Arno Sorel ~ A Company To Watch Out For !!!!!

I recently tried and bought Roxane, and since doing some research have come to the conclusion that this company warrants a thread in it's name. They are a new company which started in 2010. They have a website which includes descriptions and notes in their perfumes.
Over on fragrantica they are getting very good reviews.
To name a few
Aromatic ~ Arno Sorel. I haven't tried this one, but it seems to be a take on Rochas Man.....and a very good one at that.

Cursus ~ Only one person has tried this, but they give it the maximum score on the "love it" graph.

Solinotes Ambre ~ Here on basenotes, member Andre Moreau says, (quote) " Since the first smell I seem to have found a REALLY great scent. A sort of incense poured over leather, with a bit ~only a bit~ of vanilla in the background. Monster longevity ~ I spent over 5 hours smelling my wrist. Heavily recommended to all people loving "dark" fragrances. Very affordable price.

Solinotes Mure ~ Andre compares this to Veuve Clicquot Champagne and says, "kudos to Arno Sorel, a very underrated maison".

Roxane ~ This seems to be a take on Chanel no 5, but the drydown is stunning, beats Chanel hands down and at the same time has qualities of the best Guerlain/Caron fonds.

Their fragrances are a bit "hit and miss". They have already produced 32 fragrances. I tested Shamon and did not like it at all. Also, some of their flacons and presentation are "painfully" cheap looking.
The bottom line is, when they get it right ~ they get it perfect.
Most people seem stunned by the incredible longevity of their fragrances.
I hope members will try their fragrances and report back !

From their website looks like a mass-market brand.

Will watch out for it.

When one of their main points of purchase is Auchan, you have to wonder...

Yes, they are very much that ~ but in certain cases they seem to deliver very high quality.

Several years ago I remember seeing an article on the main ITV News At Ten broadcast, where they gave a brief insight into the perfume industry. They stated that the actual cost of a 100ml bottle of juice was only a couple of $'s. The real cost factor
was the advertising/promotion etc,.
I am really won over that the fragrance in Roxane is at least on the same quality level as Chanel etc.

Maybe they will find a distributor in the US or eventually they will make it to the wholesale grey market here.

I meant the stigma attached with their main outlets being supermarkets.

I sort of see what you mean, but Superdrug sell YSL and Dior, etc......I think it's pretty irrelevant where the product comes from.

I confirm "Ambre" by Arno Sorel is really a good scent.
More, some "discount store" frags are on the same level of "niche" ones, that's the problem....

Always remember the 5-euros frag sold in LIDL stores, "better than Chanel":

and similar articles.

True but it's very different when a fragrance brand is (more or less) exclusively available at supermarkets/hypermarkets. But, then again, I'm very weary of any hype these days.

Anyway, I'll be sure to investigate these when I next find myself in Paris.

P.S. Superdrug isn't a supermarket per se - it's more of a chemist/pharmacy chain.

wow, that's quite an endorsement...

I just found two of the Solinotes, Coco and Musc at Urban Outfitters for $9.99 each. I didn't care for the Coco, but the Musc reminds me of Jujubees, one of my favorite candies from my youth. I grabbed a bottle.
