does montale dark aoud smell similar to duro or better ?

hi everyone . I just recentlly sampled duro and loved the aoud leather combo and wanted a bottle but did not like the $$$$

Long story short looked at the notes on dark aoud and read good reviews and blind bought it . Have a 50 ml bottle comeing soon . Did i make a good choice since i like duro alot ??

They share the same woodyamber base but Dark Aoud is starker, drier, deeper and, in the end, better...at least IMO.

Duro is more close to Aoud Musk than to Dark Aoud. Duro is a macho man woody/spicy fragrance with hints of (vaguely boozy) sweetness, Dark Aoud is more assertive, starker, far more sulphureous (at least for a long part of the trip) and darker.

Never thought of them as similar. Duro I was never impressed with. Dark Aoud is great.

Dark Aoud is better, by way of both longevity and price. I liked the smell of Duro, but not the nasomatto hype machine.

Dark Aoud is different from Duro, but Aoud Musk is extremely similar to Duro, if not better.

Dark aoud smells better than Duro, IMHO. Duro smells like you'd smell Saturday morning after a night out, when you've put on an average fragrance on Friday evening, spent all night in bars, drinking, smoking and sweating.
