Voyageur ~ Jean Patou....your thoughts ?

This seems to have been a big flop for Patou. What are your thoughts ?
Does anyone know how close is to the original Normandie release ?

Own it and like it.

Can't speak to how close to Normandie it is, but as for the scent I think it is quite nicely done and I am happy to have it in my collection. My guess is the negativity surrounding it is due to relatively high expectations folks had after Kerleo's many masterpieces like Patou pour Homme and Patou pour Homme Privé among others. If one is expecting something rising to the creative genius heights of those, disappointment is near guaranteed. That said when given a chance to stand on its own, Voyageur is a very nicely done aquatic scent over a fabulous oak moss base. It is no masterpiece, but it is certainly one of the few aquatics I truly enjoy wearing.

I'm still trying to warm to this one, but I do find it extremely sharp and biting. I have the same problem with Egoiste Platinum.

I own Voyageur but haven't grown to like it all that much. I'm not a fan of aquatics in general, but wear some as a change of pace. I like the new Aqua di Gio Essenza, for example.

But I don't think the aquatic nature of Voyageur is what gets me. It's what else that's in there. It just doesn't do anything for me. It doesn't smell bad to me, but it does nothing to make me want to wear it again.

+1. I have a mini bottle. Was hoping for something great. Wasn't bad, just nothing that I had to have. I think I'm glad about that - one less thing to try to chase down and spend money on!

I'm not aware of any connection or simmilarity.

I like the bottle. I think the juice is nice for what it is.
