B'notes and Fragrantica just have no information on CASAQUE, the one I find for sale at FRAGRANCEX.com

I keep on reading about other casaques but not the one in the checkerboard design box

any help will do, thanks!

From what I remember, it was very floral.

If you're referring to the one by Jean Louis Vermeil, discontinued for more than a decade, I have a large bottle in my collection. Not floral at all.

I have a bottle of Casaque Homme in a box with gold and black checks on it. It's rather powdery and smells a bit like the La Nuit de L'Homme that I'm wearing now actually. I'm not crazy about it. Would you be interested in a bottle 95% full?

I've that in my collection and as far as I remember it has nothing floral in it! It is an old fashioned powdery fragrance with almost zero longevity. I bought it at a dirt cheap price and even then it wasn't worth! I would suggest to try it before buying else forget it!

I realize now that the one the OP is speaking of is by Orlane and not the one by Jean Louis Vermeil which is much rarer.
