Fragrances you love that doesn't last on your skin

I wont ask if you have, I already know that you've been in this situation before, everyone has. Well, at least I know I have..

Name your most beloved fragrance that failed in the longevity department on your skin. Be sure to write down how long it stays on!
My pick: The One by Dolce & Gabbana. It lasts around 3 hours on my skin, with low sillage.

Have fun!

Too many to list.

Made an edit in my post. Don't do a list of all the fragrances, name the most beloved fragrance that failed in longevity on your skin

Most classic British style, slightly barbershop-type EDC: thus most scents e.g. by GFT or Taylor's of Bond Street I have tested.

Love the actual scent, but would enjoy it even more with better longevity.

If Clinique's Happy For Men lasted longer, it would be among my all time favorites for summer.

Most of them....my skin sucks.
Be Bop Man lasts a short time - 2 hours tops but I still love it.

The above, at least most recently. Stays very close to the skin and lasts for 2-3 hours max, shame.
it's not that it doesn't last it's that it doesn't project enough....La Nuit de L'Homme
post #11 of 102
Aedes de Venustas L Artisan -love it , but longevity not the best :-(
post #12 of 102
Many, but I'm fine with them. Usually I re-apply or, if my mood changed, I switch to another fragrance. I'm not always up for a tenacious bomb.

Here are some...

Mark Birley For Men
Chanel Eau De Cologne
Helmut Lang EDC
Eau De Guerlain

Yatagan, if you can believe it.
D&G's The One is my obvious pick. No matter how great it smells I'd never pick up a full bottle of this. Truly abysmal longevity. Recently I picked up Beckham's First release Instinct which is a lovely natural smelling spicy vetiver. I honestly can't detect it on my skin after an hour.

Angéliques Sous La Pluie
Poivre Samarcande
Eau d'Orange Verte.
I would go with D&G The One.

When I first started using fragrances I over applied allure homme to the point of fatigue while simultaneously choking everyone if that counts

Lidg is one that did not last as long as I would have liked. Led to to buy the extreme version, but that one loses the luminous qualities that made me love the original

I'm pissed at the Creed house and for all the batches they have, witch different juice in every one of them. Some of them are excellent, while some of them are terrible. Why is that so? I don't understand it, at all :/

I just got done sampling LIDGE, and I'm not impressed with the longevity what so ever. I got 5 hours maximum, which is pretty damn bad for an Extreme version (if they're goal was to amplify the juice) but it's better quality compared to the Original. I get the most awesome mint chocolate out of it!

Extract of West Indian Limes by Trumpers
There are quite a few because I have dry skin. I really should try the unscented lotion trick, but I usually either don't leave enough time to lotion up or I forget. I would have to get the lotion into my routine. However, there are frags that are EDP'S or powerhouses that will hold on with there own fortitude. Mitsouko edp is one frag that has it's own great longevity and sillage and will last 12+ hours on me!

Villoresi Uomo

Dia Pour Homme

D & G - The One (How can an Amber fragrance not last?!)
Creed - Virgin Island Water
Creed - Original Cologne
Chanel Eau de Cologne
Clinique - Happy for Men
Verrsace - Eau Fraiche
Kenneth Cole - Reaction
Creed - Bois de Cedrat
4711

Love the smell of all of them... just wish they lasted a bit longer...
Bvlgari Pour Homme. I adore this one, but it barely lasts a couple of hours, even when using the shower gel, after shave balm and body lotion!

My second choice would be D & G - The One, although I do seem to get greater longevity out of this than some other people.
I sampled Heeley's Esprit du Tigre today. For all of the 10 minutes I could smell it on it, I was enamored.
Definitely D&G The one for me as well.

Unfortunately is the same for me because I have dry skin.

I have remarkably good skin. Even Guerlain's Imperiale lasts for good 6-7 hours. Only fragrance that doesn't last is Extract of Limes by Trumper's, but then again, it is literally lime juice and alcohol. It's physically impossible for it to last.
I've been pretty lucky as far as longevity goes on my skin, but the two that I absolutely love but just can't get more than a couple hours out of are Cartier Declaration Cologne (gotta love that ginger note, so fresh) and Armani Code. I will not buy those simply because of the longevity and projection issues I've faced with them. My roommate is lucky in how well Code matches his body chemistry. Oh well, win some you lose some!
Chanel Les Exclusifs Eau de Cologne, hands down. I've taken to spraying it on my shirt....much better longevity that way. Beautiful fragrance, nevertheless.
White Lalique
Rocky Mountain by desquared
all Annick Goutal
all Villoresi
all Penhaligon
All Creeds- bummer. Most other frags also- bummer. Im sure it has something to do with over saturation at home because last time i went on vacation I could smell one spray of any frag all day. It was crazy.
Brut , love the fragrance but the longevity sucks, the aftershave lasts minutes on me unless i pour the stuff on , the edt has acceptable longevity but still not that great, i hear Brut classic has better longevity
post #37 of 102
Another for Hermes Poivre Samarcande - lovely pepper scent, but gone in an hour.
Opus 1870 - Wish I could get more than 4-5hrs out of it. Still a gem, though.

I'll add Rochas Man. Beautiful gourmand scents, with terrible projection and longevity.
Also, Havana Vanille / Vanille Absolument by L'Artisan. Also a beautiful gourmandish vanilla scent that sticks to your skin like crazy, with minimal longevity. It's a shame, these scents are amazing.
Kiton Black. I love the scent, but can't get more than a couple hours out of it unless I spray way too much.
Roadster Sport. It smells fantastic. If this would stay, I would make it my signature scent. But it only hangs around for an hour or two.

Creed Millesime Imperial.. If this thing lasted longer than a couple of hours it would be the perfect cologne for me.

+1 x20, Creed's MI is wonderful in the summer heat. If only it lasted longer and projected better...

Me too, D&G The One,
Millesime Imperial.

Chanel's Cuir de Russie parfum is very soft-spoken on me.

Versace Eau Fraiche--Think this is great for summer but it is gone within an hour

Frapin 1270 should deff be on this list, for sure! It's a beautiful boozy gourmand that has zero lasting power.
Chypre Rouge
Un Matin D'Orage
Avignon

the first to come to mind!
The crown perfumery's spiced limes, among many others. I get less than 30 minutes from it, no matter how much I apply. Penhaligon's juniper sling is another, but thankfully over-application helps me get the length I need. Still, I run through my bottles of it pretty fast.
The three that come to mind are Frapin 1270, CDG Avignon and Burberry London. Oh yeah, Creed Virgin Island Water is holding steady at number 4
post #57 of 102
I don't care about longevity, but Eau de Guerlain is ridiculous.
Xerjoff's Bouquet Ideale (from their Casamorati 1888-line). After 2 hours: nothing but a woody vanilla base I can barely detect. 4-5 hours - gone.

I wish it lasted longer too. I only get average longevity out of it, and I own the previous formulation (100 ml bottle with red label).
