Not sure of a release date, but it should be soon since this is listed on the Coty spring 2013 listings.

Described as a Modern Oriental Aromatic
Top- Brazilian green mandarin, guarana, absinthe
Mid- French clary sage, fir balsam, white vetiver
Base- Madagascar vanilla bean, labdanum, suede

EDT 4oz $69
EDT 2.5oz $55
Body Spray 5.4oz $15

Sounds... interesting.. I have liked some of the other Obsession flankers, but CK frags have been duds the last few years, let's hope this changes things

I bet it has a strong rubbing alcohol base...I given up on the brand Coty distroyed it.
interesting notes, prob be alright just synthetic and poor-med longeviety...and within 6 months every tom dick and harry will be wearing it like most designer fragrances of this kind.

Another pass.
Pass indeed
pppppppppass... although I'll test it anyway
post #7 of 38
Time to milk their best selling fragrance... Again.
Coty is banned.
I have to say the bottle looks sexy but Secret Obession was a flop. Why touch Obession it has its followers it keeps getting played with to attract the non 80's generation
post #10 of 38
A Body Spray?! Clearly they're going after the AXE contingent.
Will be at TJ maxx faster than the speed of light, and from there straight to the garbage can.
It's already flooded eBay and my local Macy's doesn't have it yet
post #13 of 38
It is at least worth testing. No harm in that.
Passing....gas as I read this. It will have better longevity.

Finally got a chance to try this and put a review on my YouTube page. It's a pretty familiar smell, as a matter of fact I bought my first bottle of this (almost) same juice back in 2011... and paid MUCH less for it then... I swear CK and Coty must think we are morons and will buy anything they slap a label on...

What was the 2011 bottle called?
He's talking about CK Shock for Him
Not like CK Shock at all.

It's got a weird suede/fir balsam thing going on, along with what smells VERY much like calamus root (the DIYers may know what this smells like - a very unique smell). It's nice, but a bit linear and kind of sickening once the fir balsam settles down. Prior to that, the fir/suede/vanilla smells like a nice Christmas candle - one of those that is supposed to elicit the smell of snow in some way.

Most of CK fragrances are dissappointing

I tried this yesterday. I thought I had tried it before, but it was just that the packaging is so similar to Obsession Night for Men. They do have vanilla/Vetiver/suede in common. Rather pleasant but nondescript, slightly woody sweet orientalish. Moderate longevity and didn't smell too artificial. Yea, I'm not sure there is any real praise from my experience, but I've smelled many worse. I would wear it if I had nothing better to wear. Only new thing I saw at Macy's.

really? They must be way behind on their stock or it might be a small store. My store got 17 new frags just in Men's in the last 2 months. It's been crazy :}
Interesting to test, thanks for sharing.
Have this on my hand right now, so far I like it quite a bit. It does smell similar to Shock, but a little more mature smelling. Shock for adults if you will. Has a slightly powdery floral leather smell that makes it a little less juvenile than Shock. An unashamed thumbs up from me.

For anyone in Canada, you should be able to test it at Shopper's Drug Mart.
I really liked it, but will wait till the price comes down some...
It was a pleasant smell, I could see this as a good competitor to Armani Code Ultimate...which is better in my opinion.
I've tried it a couple of times, and to me, it's just a standard, nondescript Coty factory blob. Totally safe, totally wearable, with nothing recognizable or notable to make it stand out aside from the alcohol. I was actually interested in it because for whatever reason, I really like Obsession Night -- which is itself just a chemical blob of fake pear, but kind of works on me.
It's a nice oriental. I tried it, and was quite surprised at how nice it was. If I saw if for really cheap, I would consider a purchase.
Was in Macy's at the Mall in S. Portland weekend before last and my GF & I tried a sample. We both liked it but it was pretty expensive for a small bottle but she got it for me as a gift. I'm not a big CK fan but do think classic Obsession is a pretty good fragrance. Have never smelled CKOS so can't comment there. I'm a real novice at this but I would agree with Docluv45, CKDO is slightly woody sweet orientalish with moderate longevity and doesn't smell artificial. Anyway, I like smelling it on me, it has decent longevity and she thinks it smells great. Definitely worth checking out.

I'm amazed he could identify the notes at all. Even by Coty's standards, it's total garbage.

I just watched your review on youtube, very good! Keep it up.

I don't own CK1 Shock so will get this instead, Dark Obsession is already VERY cheap in England. Just £25 for 125ml bottle.

I 'll pass on this but I MUST get around to tracking down Obsession Night, to check on the comparisons I've heard to Paul Smith London....
