Best smokey frag?

That should read 'smoky'!

I'm off to London tomorrow and I'd like some suggestions as to the best niche smokey fragrances for men to try. I've tried Naomi Goodsir's Bois d'Ascese and that was too much for me, but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!

I find Tuscan Leather to be considerably smokey.

Also, I have heard man refer to Chanel's Sycomore as being a nice smokey vetiver.

Thanks! I own Tuscan Leather. I tried Sycamore earlier this month but my nose was so tired by that stage of the day that everything at the Chanel Exclusives counter smelled awful :/

May be worth another try. I wish there was somewhere close by I could sample the exclusives...

The only place I know in London is Selfridges. I suppose Harrod's has them, too, but I don't go there!

Cheers for these suggestions. Arso is my all-time favourite fragrance and I'm awaiting the arrival of my split from Palmbeach. I'll research the others tonight.

Thanks! Will try the Mona in Liberty. It seems I keep reading about Knize Ten everywhere, so I'll have to see if I can find that in town.

I love smokey fragrances. You've got some great suggestions so far - Arso, Fumidus, Black Tourmaline. I'd like to add one whose name I can never spell and my bottle, for some weird reason, doesn't have the name of the fragrance on it. I know its initials are KJ and it's from Parfums Regence and it's a great smokey leather. Somebody help me out here.

I'll tell you what, I thought Profumum Arso was smokey. I just received a sample of Fumidus, and this makes Arso feel like white smoke, compared to a heavy fire black smoke with a touch of Scotch Whiskey neat thrown in for good measure.

Encre Noire
Sycomore
and my most recent discovery Nerouno (smells like a smokey Dior homme meets Fahrenheit!
