New Haarlem - A steal of a deal

I posted a while ago about my local Winners ((TJ Maxx) selling Bonds and Creeds. Well, sure enough the clearance sale hit them like a ton of bricks and well:

yup, that's a 3.3oz New Haarlem for $70 CDN yay! They had some Washington Squares and HOT Always and I Love NY...but I don't particularly enjoy those as much.

Cheers.

Awesome deal! I've never seen NH, but I do see ILNY now and again at TJ

The Winners close to where I work has New Haarlem for $100. $70 is a steal for sure! They have a bunch of other Bond fragrances as well.

Was this in Toronto by any chance?
Good one. Enjoy!

Great deal! Hope the Creeds at my local winners get discounted even more soon.

Arrrghh, my Winners has nothing! Just typical Britney Spears, and Antonio Bandaras junk. I did recently see a bottle of Penhaligons LP no 9 at my local Marshall's.

Although not a fan of this fragrance, have to agree that it's a helluva deal!

I've got to check winners now. If I see New Haarlem for $100 below, I'm definitely buying it...
Wow, that's awesome. I wish I could find this in an Edmonton AB location!

OMG. This is an amazing deal for an amazing fragrace

I have an even better idea - buy Michael Jordan Legend for around $20. You'll not know the difference.

Except for the smell, presentation, name, density, and everything else.

From your comment you've never smelled it or you go for the brand and not the fragrance. See other posts here at Basenotes about the similarity. If you believe 1 in 10,000 can really tell the difference, you're mistaken.

Are they perfectly the same? Of course not. Is the minute difference worth the cost? No way.
It's subjective lol. You can't really decide whether it's worth the cost to someone else.
i never tried michael jordan legend, but i have been told so many times that rochas man and new haarlem are really similar.

and honestly, i would pay $100 for 50ml of New Haarlem before I would pay $20 for a big bottle of Rochas Man

They are very similar, probably 70% similar, but that 30% makes a BIG difference for me.

i cant say everyone will agree with me on this, but there is something from new haarlem that just really resonates with me, and it's something i never found in rochas man or any other fragrance.

in every single case that i've been told two fragrances are near-identical, i've tried them myself and was greatly disapointed

Great deal. However, I do not feel that the price is warranted. I bought a 3ml decant of New Haarlem for like $14. Did one spray and instantly thought of Jordan Legend. I should probably give it a few more wearings, but I think I would rather re-sell the decant and buy a bottle of Legend. I think they are quite close, and there is not a huge difference in quality. Not like the difference between MI and Love and Luck or Unforgivable.

ND- for the price, I don't see why you haven't tried Legend yet. It is quite nice. I prefer it to Rochas man, and feel that is is closer to NH.

I own Legend in fact, and yes it's similar, but unless you suffer from a rather pernicious case of anosmia, no one is mistaking New Haarlem for Jordan Legend, the latter's drydown is a cheap lavender musk whereas New Haarlem's is far smoother and well blended. Also, Legend becomes incredibly cloying whereas New Haarlem is great even after hours of wear.

You are one lucky guy!!! I'd have jumped on that in a heartbeat...love that stuff - warm Cinnabons.

It's going for $136 in Mississauga.

Not too bad, but even at $80 I'd be on the fence about buying this fragrance. It's too damn sweet!

Sorry I wasn't precise enough. When I commented on the difference in cost, perhaps I should have added "to me" to the end of the sentence. However, I thought it was obvious...

After all: you should be yourself - everyone else is taken.

Those of you who have purchased New Haarlem - is the liquid colored or clear?

Selective arguments- gotcha.

They need to haul some of those leftovers a little closer to my location. That 's crazy cheap.
