Amouage Memoir Man vs CdG Wonderwood

Just tried a sample of Memoir Man and I must say I was very impressed.

Very nice...and very similar to Wonderwood.

Perhaps a little more powdery, maybe a touch sweeter. Maybe, but like I said Memoir Man is almost identical to CdG Wonderwood.

They both have woods, and are both sweet in their own way, but apart from that I don't get any similarity in smell.

I Prefer CDGW.

Both disappointed me

Memoir for the longevity silage and projection (for me)...

memoir man is the worst fragrance i have smelled, i think i need to get a new sample from someone else in case i got fake juice lol.

No similarity to me... I liked Wonderwood quite a bit, but was highly disappointed with Memoir (though I think it was a skin chemistry issue with the wormwood).

I still need to sample wonderwood. Love memoir man though.

This. I love both, but I they smell pretty different to me.

I have tried both and get no similarity either.

I don't get the similarities. To me Wonderwood is all about a cedarwood-sandalwood combo with other woody notes thrown in whereas Memoir is a aromatic-minty-green concoction darkened by incense and wormood. I'm a big CDG freak but I find Memoir Man WAAAY much more complex, multi-faceted and darker.

Wonderwood is faaaaaaaar better, the mysore sandalwood note is just awesome. Memoir, reminded me of vintage CK Eternity from the 90s , another very synthetic green fragrance.

Memoir Man is a far superior fragrance both in ingredients and construction. Wonderwood only smelling it from a dabber, is linear at best.
I don't get much similarity either. I prefer memoir.

Prefer Memoir. I didn't see much similarity.
Both could be in ones collection and not seem redundant.

I find them very different; Wonderwood being a very thin generic wood, while Memoir Man being a rich herbal incense with supporting amber.

I have both, and disagree.

Memoir Man: I really like the dry-down. There is no cedar listed, but the mint and sandalwood and leather blend into a cedar like note. Overall a cool green base. Projection isn't great, but adequate. I try not to let price influence my reviews, but a very expensive fragrance should have great projection and longevity for me. I tend to be a little easier on it if the price is less.
Wonderwood: Pepper and cedar, with some sandalwood and a hint of green...vetiver? Nice scent but linear.

Same here. When I sampled Wonderwood, didn't leave much impression. When I tried Memoir Man it was an instant "have to have"

I just put WW on my wrist and the first thing that came to mind was Tam Dao. I prefer TD with its creamy sandalwood.

I get the similarity, but it's a vague similarity at best. Memoir Man is so complex. I strongly prefer Memoir Man, but Memoir Man is more than twice the price at $270.

Whenever you find yourself thinking two scents are very similar, make sure you're comparing them side to side on skin. If you're not, I guarantee that your mind is playing tricks on you.

From a notes perspective they're not similar but from a genre, yes somewhat I see the resemblance.

I don't get the similarity, however I think the drydown of Epic Man is very similar to Wonderwood...
