Adam Levine-first impressions

Well his fragrance showed up here today. I grabbed samples and put the mens to the test. His fragrance off the top is a blast of citrus (mandarin and grapefruit). The lemongrass shows up a bit later. The midnotes are overwhelmed by ginger. I can't really smell passionfruit or anything leafy. The dry down is woody amber that seems quite mild to me. The mandarin is present throughout.

The bottom line for me is that its okay. Its not FBW. Maybe the kids will enjoy it. Besides I wouldnt buy because he's an arse(hypocrite) IMO

Cheers Rex

Update:The frag wears fairly close and longevity is poor(maybe 2 to 3hrs max on me)

Nice review.

It sounds kind of boring.

Is it boring?

Pass.

From the notes, seems like Bleu de Chanel. From your review, not so much...

When I wear this fragrance, I imagine singing and playing the piano. I just imagine a woman being serenaded by a soothing male voice, she will be loved. For people who sing and play the piano, this your perfect fragrance, for everyday wear, if you practice everyday. Whether you are playing piano in your music composition class, at a recital, or in a musical event of some sort, this fits the bill. Like if I had to describe it, it's music in a bottle. The versatility of this fragrance is bad, as it's really only for events where you sing .

Thanks for the quick review, I was considering it but will probably pass.

Pass.

Thanks for the review. At least it's not a train wreck and possibly an inoffensive summer cologne, or an option for an office friendly fragrance.

The bottle is ridiculously silly.

My bet is that this will be a big hit with sales.

I agree 100%.

I am surprised to hear your very neutral review of Adam Levine after reading Octavian Cofian's glowing positive review about this fragrance: http://1000fragrances.blogspot.com/2...eview-for.html After reading his on and on praises - "One of the best young perfumes since the 90's", and "There is absolutely no compromise here, but a major surprise. The masculine Adam Levine's scent is absolutely fabulous." I could not wait to try it following Octavian's lead . . . but now, not so much.

Although to me its just okay. I have not seen the review noted, but statements like "no compromise" and "best youth perfume since the nineties" are not really that informative(to me)

The good news is that it may replace AdG foryounger folks. That, would be"fabulous"

How was the longevity and sillage I have not poked my head into Macy's yet to smell it after the Versace Eros incident. From what I have read sillage and longevity are solid for a celeb scent....?

Tried it today - it's a solid fragrance, but nothing special IMO. I know Octavian thinks it's the shiz but I'm not sold. It smells like grapefuit and guava to me throughout most of its life on paper. Unfortunately, the combination of notes somehow conjures cat piss for me...

I think that as far as celeb scents go, it's a great effort. I'm not super impressed overall though. Yes, it's happy, clean, unique... but it hasn't wooed me yet. And that cat piss note!
