Whats the worst fragrance that offended your nose?

Personally the top of angel men is my current worst. (only the top, drydown is amazing)

As for now i have yet to come across something i hate.
Agree on A*Men, I find it disgusting. Also Tuscan Leather
post #3 of 132
Secretions Manifiques would have to top the list.

Bond Wall Street

In my opinion, Kouros left me with some of the least pleasant olfactory experiences.

Original Aramis

for me, Beyond Paradise for Men. extremely cloying to my nose.

Mokhalat Malaki by Swiss Arabian

Curve (seems like women's perfume)
LeMale (in spite of the name, unmanly imo)
Fahrenheit (oil and grease)
Grey Flannel (Unmanly. Liked this one for a short time, then figured out it smells like those little pink, floral, decorative bathroom soaps, but in a strong way. Don't really want to smell like that, thank you).
An ether based parfum that my grandfather had - stench from the blend of rose & heavy civet that wouldn't go away for a few days (yes, i did shower). I threw it away the same day...
Smell Bent Debonair. OMG it smells like burning oak moss, and extremely pungent.. so much that it makes Grey Flannel's opening seem weak.
Quite a few but Lauder for Men just didn't agree with my nose!
Secretions Magnifique is f**king horrifying.
I would say Secretions Magnifique, but I don't consider it a fragrance.

So, I'll say:

Cartier Pasha

Versace l'homme

Polo (original)

And most of the the other "hairy chest" category.

white diamonds, vanilla fields, and sunflowers.
Got to be either Quorum or that hideous mess billowing out of the Hollister shop down the road. Either one to me is what hell smells like.
Creed Silver Mountain Water. Can't stand it.
Ungaro III

Anyone else who had bad experiences with vodka will understand.

New York Oud, Aramis, Quorum are close contenders.

Angel
A~Men
Poeme
L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme
Bvlgari Pour Homme
Xeryus Rouge
....and, and, and.....
I really did not like Kouros or Montale Black Aoud.

But there's a lot of cheap women's fragrances I come in contact with quite regularly that disgust me--I just don't know the names of them or what they are. I was about 50 feet behind a woman in the supermarket parking lot yesterday and I could taste her perfume it was so strong (and equally gross). It was kind of like she sprayed herself down with Glade air freshner before leaving a gas station restroom.

Cool Water.
Dismal.
Secretions Magnifique is just not a frag IMO. It is just a 'why'.

Top scrubber for me was Versace Blonde amongst a few more I cannot think of.
Every once in a while, this kind of thread appears on BN, so I'll write a generic response: one man's trash is another's treasure. That said, the worst frags I've tried are: Aramis and Kiss for Him. Scrubbers.

D&G By Man. Smells like a man with woefully neglected butt hygiene wearing Avon Sweet Honesty. I know it's a Basenotes darling, but I can totally see why it bombed.

many...including Bluebell by Penhaligon's, Montale Wood & Spices, Ginger Musk, Soleil De Capri, several Burberry, Angelo Di Fiume by Linari, Light Blue Pour Homme, Davidhoff Champion, Cartier De Lune, Gucci Guilty Black, +Ma by Blood, Love In Black by Creed...others...
It really is as disturbing as people make it sound:

That and something called 'white suede' that I tried in Dubai, although that was less disturbing.
I have tried time after time to like Serge Lutens Chergui. Makes me want to vomit.
I was at the Guerlain boutique in Vegas and sprayed the Jicky EDP on a tester card. The top smelled like a fresh turd. I got on the escalator at the Palazzo and the lady behind me asked her partner if he'd farted. Yup...I smelled it too. The tester strip ended up in my luggage and everything smelled of excrement when I got back to St. Louis. One of my cats used my suitcase as a litter box. True story.

Musc Ravageur
Agree. Musc Ravageur is one of the worse I have ever sniffed.

Ambre Sultan, blech

Le Labo: Santal 33 (smells like a dirty kitchen in a Japanese restaurant)
Bronnley's Lavender (exactly like a cat box....)
Thierry Mugler: Mugler Cologne (Just so very loud and bizarre.)
D&G Light Blue pour Homme. And for that matter anything aquatic.

Ungaro II. But... but but but... but, there's something about it which I find bizarrely compelling. There's a strong civet note in it that smells very fecal. And I hate it. And... yet... I... don't? ...?
Aoud Leather. Gag.
Azzaro pour homme.
Joop.

I get physically ill and gag when I smell it, no joke.

There are some unpleasant scents out there, but nothing makes me sick like Azzaro pour home.

It is a terrible fragrance, but I think Saddle Warmer is far worse.

Saddle Warmer by Smell Bent smells like someone who is planning on murdering you wraps a plastic bag over your head and pipes in sickeningly sweet artificial peach fragrance along with smoke from a heap of burning plastic...and then they suffocate you with the plastic bag! It's so bad it literally changed my perspective about humanity and what we're capable of. lol
post #48 of 132
While Secretions Manifiques would likely win most polls for worst scent, and probably deserves to, L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme and Grey Flannel and A*Men are the things that really cause me to despair because I have to actually smell them so much.

I find this certain ultra synthetic "blue" accord offensive. I can stand many things, but not this accord. Very similar note is found in many contemporary designer frags, but here it's overwhelming. I may be hypersensitive to some chemical, or then my nose is just too sophisticated for this crap.
A*Men - top repulses me...

Versace Pour Homme - yes, the whiney blue synth accord, can't stand it...

Fougère Bengale - Much as I'd like to like this, the curry accord just turns my stomach...

I know, I am certainly in the minority on this one, but it may be the mysterious 'S' molecule that Mugler advertised. When I smell it, it has that salivary trigger, something like fish sauce or ginger or something. It's hard to describe this one!

The first statement could be made by myself. Doesn't unsettle my stomach though.

Now that just makes me want to try it. Just the name alone makes me want to try it.

Now I rather liked this one and bought an FB on the results of a blind sniff. Now I have the FB, I'm not so sure either. I just have to keep putting it on to see... very compelling indeed... why is that?
Only A*Men.

Nothing else disgusts me.
Women's:

Princess. I don't get it.

I really don't like it when people use the term 'bug spray' to describe a fume..so I say, mosquito repellent for this little gem, lol. That is the grossest fume ever.

And Burberry Brit for women, ugh. Gross. Oh and Fancy by JS, another mosquito repellent, bad, just so bad. Blech.

Men's:

A*men. Disaster in a bottle..as most of TM stuff is.
