Help me choose a new fragrance...

Hi, looking for a new fragrance, fairly new to this world. I received my first fragrance when I turned 16(cool water)which I barely wore for some reason. I am now 22 and have now found a new found interest in the fragrance game. Thanks.

My (small/fairly generic i'm guessing) collection-

Versace man eau fraiche
Versace Pour Homme (bought 1 month ago)
YSL la Nuit (bought 1 month ago)
Gucci by Gucci ( bought 3 years or so ago)
Cool Water
5 Ml of Millisime Imperial ( received 1 week ago)
5 Ml of Green Irish Tweed (received 1 week ago)

Looking into the below fragrances or any suggestions-

Gucci Pour Homme II
Prada Intense EDP
Hanae Mori
Mugler Cologne
D&G The One
CH Carolina Herrera
Dior Homme Intense EDP

Mugler Cologne is a nice refreshing scent. I'd consider it.

Look into getting a sample/decant of Creed Aventus.

Dior Homme and Gucci Pour Homme II would be my top 2 picks from the list

Dior Homme Sport is something different than what you own and seems to be a crowd pleaser.

Agree! From your list I would suggest this. Maybe you could provide us with more info about the scent you are looking? I just made suggestions to a "burning ship full of spices"-scent...

Let your fantasy take over!

Same here! You can't go wrong with either one.

From your list, I would highly recommend:

Gucci Pour Homme II
Mugler Cologne
D&G The One
Dior Homme Intense

In that order.

When I purchased Dior Homme original, I did not think I would use it very much...so I went with a smaller bottle. After wearing this in the cold weather and experiencing the great complexity that this scent holds and the quality aspects. It is on my list as a re-purchase. It gets compliments and performs above average in every way.

Mugler Cologne is also a great green scent and performs very well.

Prada Amber Intense is luxury in a bottle. Very rich and sophisticated. Complex scent that performs awesome, but it has its critics. If your a wine guy, this is for you. If you are a beer guy...Mugler is for you.

Wait for cacio to give a really good recommendation and buy the ones he recommends

Thanks for these fast replies fellow basenoters. I'm open to all types of scents, although I would be more inclined to have scents that are targeted to a college student. A crowd pleaser without being extremely loud and some mystery to it. I get bored of the same smell so maybe something that changes throughout the wearing but not all over the place.

smells for consideration in no order.

Citrus
Spice
Mosses/woods
Greens/Herbs

Some Questions-
Dior Homme Sport- Looks interesting, is it a big difference between the 2008 and the 2012 bottles?

Dior Homme- same thing, difference between the reformulated and originals? Originals are very hard to come by Id imagine.

Mugler Cologne- Very nice responses definitely on my list of purchases for a summer pickup. nice price as well

Gucci Pour Homme II- looks like its well loved by the noses of these forums but how about the average nose?

Gucci PH II gets many good reviews. I tried it a couple days ago and thought it was good, but there are other fragrances I like more.

Have you tried Terre d'Hermes? It has orange peels mixed with woods. It is not too loud.

Mugler Cologne followed closely by Gucci pour Homme II from your list...

Have not tried but it is on my short list. Is Gucci PH II like Terre d'Hermes? or are you comparing separately?

Gucci Pour Homme II - Sweet tea; good safe scent. Doesn't seem to be hated by anyone, but it doesn't draw any attention (which is a good thing in my opinion). Known as a good office scent, but I consider it very versatile.
Hanae Mori - Lemon head candy; It does smell like sweet lemons like everyone has stated. A lot of people like it, I personally don't see why it's so popular. It's has a nice scent, you'll either love or somewhat like this one.
Mugler Cologne - Unisex and fresh; Can't really describe this one since it's so basic (in a good way). It's unisex but more of a guys scent. Somewhat floral-soapy. Fresh and safe for the most part. Try it first though.
D&G The One - Probably one of my favorite ones. Young and sophisticated. Problem is...it doesn't last. Spray it on at 5, and it'll be gone by 5:30.

Sidenote: GPH II and TdH do not smell similar. You would probably like TdH now that I think about it.
