Yup, a flanker of Gentleman in the same bottle but with a new (and light blue) juice. The folks at the local Macy's are expecting this in any day now along with Le Beau Male and a few others.

I must confess Gentlemen Only is a truly good fragrance. It is different from the most of recent releases either aquatics or sweet "1 Million" bombs. I would describe Gentlemen Only as subtle milky peppery in the style of L'Artisan Poivre Piquant, for example. What I feel is modern fruity semi-sweet molecules, a lot of pepper / incense with a woodiness in the dry down. The result is a bit soapy, though elegant soft woody peppery scent. The longevity is inposing. Highly recommend.

Indeed, a safe modern masterpiece, but not lacking neither subtlety nor non-linearity.

If it's not lacking non-linearity does that mean it's linear ?

Did you?

I just sampled it at Macy's. Very nice actually. Kinda aquatic and powdery. Smelled like something from the 90's. Maybe even Xeryus.

Yeah, waiting for it to be delivered.

Thanks for the tip. Now an official stop on my Saturday fragrance safari. Good week in business. Now in a mood to bag the big game.

Sorry. Because it's been almost a week since you purchased it I meant "did you receive it?" I will have it tomorrow if I buy it now but I don't want another blind buy

Sent the seller a message through ebay earlier today. Never takes this long to receive orders. Asked for a tracking number to see when it was actually sent.

It is not looking good to me.

Not bad, not good, very common, not for me , thanks ; where are the times when Givenchy was able to create a masterpiece like Gentleman ??
I just stopped by my local Macy's and am wearing it on one wrist now... It is quite safe and pleasant smelling, but certainly not original or outstanding. Very fresh, just slightly sweet (almost a cotton candy/faux incense kind of vibe) and a bit fruity (kind of a synthetic orange vibe). Longevity and sillage are both excellent. It regrettably has nothing in common with Givenchy Gentleman to my nose, at least. I would say it is an above average modern release based on my initial experience, but nothing I would go out of my way for.

Picked up a 100ml bottle of this, this morning. Have it it my possession now and think it's quite nice.

Accosted by pushy SAs, who kept trying to get me to sample Armani fragrances, I explained that I was there to try the new Givenchy, Gentlemen Only. The SAs were undeterred in their mission to pass off the latest fresh designer garbage on me. Right then, i spotted a tester of Gentlemen Only - aha, I can get away from the pushy SAs. Only they followed me over to the Givenchy samples, and watched like rabid hounds while I sniffed a spray strip. Have to say, I'm very fond of Givenchy Gentleman, and when I sniffed the new flanker I was shocked at how boring and banal it is. Struck me as the most average, boring, featureless fresh fragance out there. And this from someone who actually likes Bleu de Chanel. The annoying SAs were waiting for my reaction, and I couldn't help blurting out "No. It smells like everything else. It's like air freshener." The SAs gave me dirty looks as I bolted from the counter. I had a much nicer experience at the Guerlain counter on the other side of the mall.

Such are the lives of Basenoters.
