Cheaper frags similar to Adventus?

Hey all, first post here.

I got into frags last year, started off with Acqua Di Gio, which I quickly ditched for Cool Water, then moved on to Bleu De Chanel briefly before going back to ADG. It remains my most complimented and favorite scent. Until I sprang for a sample card of Aventus that is. But as a poorish student, I'm pretty hesitant to blow the money on Aventus given what I've read about random batch quality, and of course the pure cost of it.

I GREATLY prefer the lighter airy scents to the more acrid scents like ADG and *gasp* the card of GIT I got as well. So are there any quality scents like Aventus that aren't an arm and a leg? Or possibly scents like it but much better that would be worth the extra money?

It's unclear how close you need the "cheapo" scent to be, so I suggest trying something like The Secret by Banderas first.

Oh my bad. ^.^ ~80-$100 is where my comfort zone ends. Unless it's truly exceptional.

Fresco by Ilum Dean seems to be the new hype as far as comparisons to Aventus go.

You can get a split of Aventus for 80-100.

beside aventus, i could suggest you to try terre de hermes. its an amazing scent and the price seems to fit in your price range

I agree TdH might not be a bad idea. Not close to Aventus, but it's a nice scent to start with.

Definitely the best way to get Aventus or GIT is on a split here on these forums. They are some excellent people on these boards that seek out the best batches of these scents. Their prices are superb compared to retail. Only slight negative side is the bottle you get which is not an original Creed bottle. But hey, it's the scent that counts!

This^^ is the closest thing to Aventus. lol at Adventus.
Seems like everyone knows about it now and its going to be the new Acqua di Gio.

Actually, I have to try some of these scents- simply because, some, if not virtually all of them, are much more easily and readily available for testing. I know, it's not like testing Aventus first-hand, but I have to first check if I can enjoy these scents, before I might ever consider risking to blind buy Aventus.
