Taking my girl out to a pretty upscale strip club for her first time...

Wondering what your thoughts were on the best fitting frag for that scenario.

Helpful note: The club is super posh. The girls all look like high priced classy escorts and all wear evening gowns. I've been in public libraries where the girls are exposing more skin than this
post #2 of 93
I'm still reading the Subject line and trying to decide what the appropriate answer will be. My thoughts so far

1) Upscale Strip Club??There is ?

2) Your girl to an upscale strip club? Wow

3) For her first time doing what?

4) Dancers always wear the worst perfumes that are a mix of sweat and cheap body spray

5) I don't like it but One Million would seem to fit in this situation

6) There is an Aventus joke somewhere in here but I'm thinking where it involved everyone leaving their pole to visit your table or you and your girl beating them off to take a group home.

Enjoy

One Million most surely comes to mind.

Wear anything you feel comfortable with for the occasion.

Yeah this place is in San Francisco and is called Penthouse Club. It had a huge grand opening last year. And inside the club is a 5 star retaurant where the cheapest item on the menu is a $40 kobe beef burger. Dress code strictly enforced. I went here once for a bacheloer party and was blown away. I only thought clubs like this existed in movies. GF was pretty jealous and wanted to see for herself

Doesn't matter how expensive the burgers are, you're still taking you girlfriend to a strip joint. Classy.
Does it really matter? First time I heard classy and strip club in the same sentence....Lol

Exspensive doesn't equal class. It only makes it more vulgar.

Try the new Pizza Hut fragrance!

Original Santal by Creed.

It doesn't matter what scent you wear. They just appear more upscale so they can get more money off of you.
One Man Show Gold perhaps.

Or, better yet, a 1 Million knockoff, just to make sure you're got the right amount of posh for a strip club.

Ooh! Good idea! Or, even better:

Make bacon.
Place it on paper towels to absorb the grease.
Eat the bacon.
Wear the paper towels.

I would disregard the incredibly judgemental comments thus far and just enjoy the evening you are both clearly happy with. Wear whatever pleases you both and have a fantastic time!

This.

And I'd recommend a Tom Ford- Noir de Noir or Tuscan Leather would be perfect.
I'd suggest almost anything by Creed, I could even imagine (paradoxically or not) rather inoffensive yet still classy and quite complimented GIT.

Lol wow your girl sounds pretty cool. When I read the topic, I thought it was some European custom that I'm not used to or something.

I personally don't think bringing a jealous girlfriend to a place built on a business for you to stare at other women to be a good idea. Maybe have a romantic night in where she's the only one you lay your eyes on.

Pure class
lol, these type of threads are always so amusing.......and i like to take part too lol

take what girlfriend likes.....others wont care at all, among all other attention grabing moments

my GF's roommates dad owns like 15 clubs in miami. next month my GF, I, and like 10 other people are all going down there. a few of the clubs are what your talking about. classy "gentlemens clubs". and my GF is psyched lol. ill be wearing either tom ford for men or dior homme.
If I were in a similar position, girlfriend accompanying me or not, I'd reach for one bottle - Kouros.

I think perhaps the OP meant that his gf was jealous that she didn't get to go to the strip club the first time, not that his gf was jealous that he was looking at other women.

To the OP - my, the BN crew are a judgmental lot (but everyone here already knew that )
I like Ken_Russell's idea of going with something understated and with a bit of class - even at a more upscale strip club, you're likely to be one of the few blokes not wearing something eye-watering.

From my collection it would probably be Spanish Leather by Trumpers, but I'd also imagine Caron Pour Un Homme, C&E Sienna or (if you're wanting to go slightly less clean) Michael Kors for Men, would all suit quite well.

I figure I was asking a pretty unique and entertaining question.. I've been on tons of message boards and read youtube comments. The judgental nature of online personas in nothing new. I think we're gonna have a great time. My gf is pretty cool and we don't take things too seriously which I think is the way to go about handling this situation

And only a chump wouldn't take his gf to a strip club if she asked for it.
Also, romeo, what scents do you have at your disposal? If we knew from what frags you had to choose, we might be able to make some more suitable suggestions.

Chrome, Burberry weekend, burberry, eternity, acqua di gio, tommy, dkny men, versace pour homme 2008, versace man fresh, calvin euphoria, naut blue, i think i'm issing a couple of others....

Don't bring sand to the beach.

Wear whatevs. The broads are being paid so if you're wearing anything, they'll complement it.
How dare anyone suggest that strippers are anything less than epitome of class?!? Why next someone will make remarks about strippers and daddy issues. The unfairness of such insinuations leaves me breathless.

Thanks Shiny, but I think I'm gonna make this night all about her. If my wants a dance I'll let her pick her favorite girl. I know the dancers will only pretend to care but I like to be festive with my scents and wanted something that would fit this atmosphere.
Here's a promotional video of the club (no nudity, kinda safe for work, maybe) but you guys can kinda see what I'm talkin' about.
I might bring my mum there too
Wow, there are a ton of strip club haters in here huh?

I'm not the biggest fan of strip clubs but occasionally me and my boys will stop by one after going out for the night. As for what i would wear scent wise? Its be something that has good sillage
post #39 of 93
Enjoyed the YouTube video, thank you.
Reminds me of my first time at the Playboy Club in Chicago - when that was still cool and new.

Why not get a new fragrance for the evening, something from the Frederic Malle line perhaps?

Forget fragrance--bathe yourself in bacon grease, that'll do it.

Wear your Acqua di Gio and your best Affliction t-shirt.

Ok you've got quite a few warm weather fragrances. It's not exactly sweltering in SF at the moment, so I'd go with something a little warmer, but go easy on the application (it will be warm in the club).
Maybe two sprays of Eternity, or three of Burberry?
Those would be my picks, but the majority of the other fragrances turn real sour, real quick on my skin.

Wearing fragrance to a strip club might be somewhat pointless, with the air already reeking of cheap alcohol, sweat and God knows what else. But whatever makes you happy, not hatin' brah.
Wear something understated and elegant to offset any feelings of tawdriness that this visit might give rise to. But remember to act normal. Soooo..... let's see. Can't be heavy nor sweet. Hermes Concentree d'Orange Verte.
I would wear Acqua di Gio.

But I'm not sure what you should wear when she drags you to a Chippendales show (2 months from now: "well, I went to that other club with you, so now it's my turn!").
I'm a pretty conservative guy, but even I have no problem with a high class club like that if your girl is down with it too.
But for a frag suggestion, I'm confused... is the entire world of men's frags open for your consideration, or do you already own some and want a suggestion from those??

But I can see YSL LaNuit, 1 Million, or even Prada Amber pour homme working for ya. For something less sweet than these.. clean, masculine, and powerful, try VanCleef and Arpels pour homme.
And none of these are the expensive niche frags some are suggesting here.

THIS. Seriously. I realize this isn't the place for relationship advice, but if your girlfriend is feeling jealous, the last thing you want to do is take her somewhere to show her naked women she'll probably think you'd rather be looking at.

Do something romantic instead. Make her feel beautiful and it won't matter what fragrance you wear.

This sounds like good advice. Don't play into the expectation (it's a strip club after all), so I wouldn't wear anything too brash or flashy. Wear something refined and DON'T overapply. Don't be that strip club guy. Myself I'd just wear what I always wear.

Next caller please.

Why not just join a swingers club and get involved in an orgy. No need to beat around the bush.

LoL, i actually know that club you're talking about! I stopped by last time when i was in SF with my homies, met up with with one of the bouncers. Actually a real classy place. But yeah, Dior Homme intense or Aventus sounds like a good fit for this.

I don't think they're allowed to press out the patties like that anymore.

I've never understood why you would serve food in a strip club either. Physiologically it doesn't make any sense. I'm all about seeing a nice piece of ***, but I don't need it to wipe off the biscuit's and gravy that's on my face.

Musc Ravageur - a little bit of skanky and something to sweeten it up - plus good silage and projection - seems like it would suit perfectly!
