Hi guys. I intend to blind buy the following frags this week, based on reviews (mainly youtube) Most of these are cheapies. Anybody got any incite into any of these? Many thanks

Lanvin L'homme Sport
Thallium
Thallium Black
HM Hanae Mori
Dsquared2 Rocky Mountain Wood

Meh.

I'm kidding of course. Good stuff there. Hanae Mori is great, but DSquared is just not one I really care for.

Personally don't like Dsquared2 Rocky Mountain Wood. Like the others.

I don't have any on your list but from your current favorites, you might like Hommage a L'Homme Lalique. I get ridiculous compliments every time I wear it. Please check out the reviews on Basenotes.

Cheers.

Not a fan of the ones you picked up. As a resource for blind buys, Basenotes reviews >>>>>> youtube reviews.

personally, instead of buying those 5 frags, i'll rather cut down and get 1 quality

I can only comment on Hanae Mori HM and He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood.

I like HM. I enjoy it but don't love it... but I DO LOVE the reactions I get from women when wearing it. HM is worth owning just for the sake of a date scent. Make sure you buy it online. 100 ml of the EdT can be had for under $30.

For me, Rocky Mountain Wood is OK at best. I like it, but it isn't something I'd even be willing to pay $10 to own. Pass.

Good choices in my opinion, especially Lanvin L'homme Sport and Dsquared2 Rocky Mountain Wood standing out.

Rocky Mountain Wood is excellent and a great acquisition, IMO.

Decent cheapies in Hanae Mori, L'Homme Sport and Rocky Mountain. But at the rate you're going you'll soon tire of them. Do check their reviews on Basenotes.

Hanae Mori is a great fragrance imo. I have owned it for about a year and the last 2 times I wore this fragrance I have grown to like it tremendously. Citrus, florals, gourmand. 8/10 imo.

Thallium is pretty good for the price. Thallium Sport is also a good one.

IMO go for L'Homme Sport & Rocky Mountain

Have to agree with these 2 posts.

Well it's good for what it lasts. It usually lasts 15-20 minutes on my skin. Ended up selling that one.

Couldn't agree more. I learnt it pretty soon and now prefer quality over quantity.

OP, don't buy into the BS that is "designer = quantity but not quality" and "non-designer = quality." Great, exceptional, {insert other superlatives} fragrances are found at every end of the cost spectrum.

As far as your five recommendations, I've only tried HM Hanae Mori and Dsquared2 Rocky Mountain Wood. The former smells great on my teenage daughter but is too sweet and powdery on me. I wouldn't recommend it but it's not a bad fragrance per se. The latter is a great fragrance, very versatile, and well worth the price it commands (I'd recommend checking ebay for 50 and 100 ml testers...should be able to get one for between $25 and $35 shipped). Minimal blind buy risk on Rocky Mountain Wood.
