Why does my A*Men vary on different days?

A couple of months ago I bought a bottle of A*Men from fragrancenet and put 1-2 sprays on once every few days. Some days I get the great caramel smell, others I just get the nasty tar which later turns into a nice smell but not until I have taken a shower a few hours later.

Anyone have any ideas why?

Could be temperature or maybe certain soap or shower gels you may use. If you use anything else besides the frag, it may alter it's scent.

I think it is due to note sensitivity. Some days a particular note seems really strong to me while other times it's not.

Lots of things will affect the way you smell a perfume - the temperature, air movement, other grooming products you may have used, the amount you apply, your perception... It's a fairly complex fragrance built on several contrasting notes - it's good that it appears to evolve and change on you, it keeps it fresh and interesting!

It's just how you're interpreting it that day.

As you wear it more you start to notice things you hadn't before. It could also just be how it's developing that day, different factors like amount sprayed, location, heat. It's what keeps fragrances interesting.

I believe this is most likely the case. This happens with my Dior Homme Intense a lot, some days the iris is very pronounced, other days it seems to go straight to the smooth cocao smell with barely any iris.
