Beloved Man (Amouage)

Official Launch today at Lane Crawford, Hong Kong. Had a nice chat with Christopher Chong and enjoying this very much - it strikes me as a no-nonsense high quality take on a classic aromatic woods oriental masculine accord. This is not an exotic or challenging Amouage, it is one that I think will be accessible to guys who are 'not into perfume' necessarily but appreciate quality. Like Beloved Woman it is a riff on more classical perfumery, and one that will probably gather steam as word gets out - I may find my way back and buy one at some point, I would certainly recommend it to some guys I know who are not basenotes members.

Chakra 1 Balancing Body Mist by Aveda

Lot's of vetiver, but it fades into the background nicely. Later on I'll dab on some samples from the Men's Sample Pass to liven things up.

Today I am wearing a sample of Original Vetiver by Creed. I like this one a lot, but it died off not so long ago, giving me ~5 hours of longevity. That being said, I probably could have sprayed more than I did (3 sprays from a sample vial).

Still, I'll probably get a bottle once spring rolls around.

Tauer LADDM--first wearing. To me it smells similar to Lys du desert (Luckyscent decennial collection) which I sampled recently. I don't like the topnotes, but nice drydown, overall I'm enjoying it.

Sampled this today. I sat down in my chemistry lecture, but before I sat down, my friend (female) said I smelt like cinnamon. Personally I get more incense than cinnamon, but it was clearly quite strong.

Coincidentally, the lecturer touched on perfumes and cinnamon scents whilst briefly talking about alcohols. I asked my friend if she liked the smell of cinnamon and she said she did. I guess it got a compliment?
