Today I bought: March 2013

Thread Starter

Finally gave in and bought this one. It's the most I've spent on a fragrance so far. It's like I've broken through to the next level of an addiction.

Should have indicated that it's Invasion Barbare

Dior Addict - Forget about Guerlain Tonka Imperiale, Dior Addict has BIGHER balls!, and It does the job costing 50% less then Tonka Imperiale.
This guy is a truly beast on projection and longevity mode, its darkness and masculinity must have put off some of the female consumers.
Making a long history short: It was wrongly marketed as a female perfume.
In fact the Parfumer behind Dior Addict is the Same as Guerlain Tonka Imperiale -) Thierry Wasser, Divine Providence? I do not think so

Hermès - Eau de Gentiane Blanche - A Gorgeous Hisperidic Cologne, and yes, it does not last ages, therefore it is required to be re applied every four hours, it does not scream for attention either , Eau de Colognes were originally created to uplift spirits, so if you are into longevity tattoos, please go ahead with One Million, A*Men, Joop - Homme instead.

Jean Paul Gaultier - Fleur De Male - A beautiful Orange Blossom perfume, Unisex, lingering to the feminine side, gorgeous and vulnerable, I love it.

Jean Paul Gaultier - Le Male- It Is still relevant today, I used to love it, I used to hate it and I have purchased 4 bottles since its release in 1994 back in the time in Brazil, it is a scent connected to my memories of the 90's and yes guys, I am a Cougar from the 90's!
In fact it is a fantastic scent, obviously a recognisable one, but a scent that it is out there in the market, for such a long time, almost twenty years by now, it has its merits.
I do not believe that only an intelligent market-campaign and an Erotic bottle would have kept him, for such a long time in the spotlight, Le Male has endured the test of time for one simple reason: It is a very well constructed Fougère, period! Lavender, Mint an Vanilla, dominate the party here, in some ways, such accord is atemporal.
If you do not believe me, go google the top 10 most sold male perfumes around the world in the last twenty years: Jean Paul Gaultier - Le Male will be leading the top five, at least.
I do love niche perfumes, but there are wonderful mass produced scents out there, so keep an open mind , and most importantly Stop hating Le Male guys!!!

Doesn't really count as a fragrance, but I bought 6 30mL glass atomizers so I can finally put my Neroli Portofino, Chypre Palatin, and Invasion Barbare in a spray atomizer.

I'm guessing that The Perfumed Court does.

Have fun with the samples - sometimes I think I get more excited to receive samples than full bottles in the mail!

Coincidence: I am wearing Addict from a sample this afternoon. I've always liked it - I didn't know that Wasser was the nose. Very interesting.
