Back and looking for a new signature

Hey basenotes, Its been a while.
I'm back after trying different colognes, mostly bvlgari and YSL, and looking for a new signature.
I have an idea of what I want, and I've probably smelled it somewhere, but I'm not sure where to start.

I know that I want a musk that will make it wearable in the winter
but also a fresh, green--some might even say bitter--accord to carry it through the summer.
Overall it should be earthy, fresh, evoke thoughts of the outdoors and have an underlying musky tone to make it masculine and wearable all year round.

I would try Greene Street by Etro. I thought it was horrible, but it does fit your description, so it might be more to your taste!

I always wonder why people want a "signature scent" I have 30+ frags, and wear what my impulse is on a particular day. Some are gourmand sweet, so don't do well in summer, etc. I wouldn't want to be known for just one signature...

I mainly want a signature because I like keeping it simple, and I like the idea of being recognizable by smell.
Also, it just means that i will like it that much more if I could wear it everyday and not tire.

Welcome back 10dadeo - how about Van Cleef & Arpels Tsar?



This is the current version and most agree it's pretty much as good as the original. Green, fresh but with earthy, natural undertones (and musk!) as requested! Add in excellent longevity & above average projection and you're on to a winner...!

Tsar is nothing like Pour Homme (and nowhere near as scary...!). It's fresh, green and smells very natural. There's some high quality stuff in there. If you can find a sample give it a try.

Bond No. 9 New York Musk is a modern fresh musk that would do well in the summertime. But I couldn't imagine it being anyone's "signature" fragrance.

Grey vetiver by Tom Ford is bright and citrusy enough to work in the spring and summer with light application, yet has enough mossy amber to work in the fall and winter. It is green and bitter alright.

Otherwise, try the new Bvlgari Man Extreme.

Tsar is good. Make sure to get vintage, or I've also heard the new stuff is good (but not the first reformulation).

I recommend Atelier Trefle Pur.
