Thread Starter
I awoke to a frosty, freezing-cold morning here.
Hopefully things will brighten up soon as I have
really had enough of these chilly, winter days.

Maybe Hot Couture will give me the warmth I so crave.
I really like the smoky, peppery raspberry notes in this one.

Good morning!

I went for the bomb - Juicy Couture original.

Chilly but bright in the Big Smoke.
Mouchoir de Monsieur.

Have a great Tuesday, folks.

Good morning! (It's lunchtime here already, though.)

Inspired by something Evangeline said yesterday, I went to my AG sample box this morning. Probably it's just me but I'm finding this scent surprisingly masculine. Not really masculine, but not-plain-feminine.

Hypnotic Poison. Why is the UK still to bl**dy cold? Brrrrrrr!

Enchanted Forest TVP, from a sample. Smells very foresty, for sure. I get mostly blackcurrant, cedar & balsam fir with a bit of spice. Gets a bit musky on the dry down. I'd say if you are a currant fan to try it. Not sure if I would get a fb, I mean, if I had lots to spend on fume, I might lol. If you are craving forest with a tangy, bright currant, this is for you! Stays close to the skin, I have a hard time having cedar scents last on me for long...dries up and goes away, poof. Bummer, as I like cedar. I'd pick this scent over Blackberry and Bay by Jo Malone for a woody, tangy, berried scent. I don't really get any cat pee in EF, just thought I'd note that! lol. After reading, I guess this is made by the owners of the Fragrantica site? No wonder they gave away so many samples(I didn't enter the contest), I bought my sample. I don't really go on Fragrantica though.

Scentsucker, you smell good!

It's cold but very sunny up here gang. We have had this weather for the past two weeks. I've been out early Nordic Walking with the girls. It's been freeeeezing, but with bright sun. Then the frost goes and there is actually a wee heat in the sun. The air is drenched with optimism and it is really glorious. Good for the spirits! I really hope that it comes your way soon.

Lumiere Noir today. (Femme).

Hi, Twolf!

Androidi, the woods in AG Vanille Exquise seemed a little rough to me. I don't know why because I love Eau d'Hadrien, but the woods seem smoother in that. Anyway, I agree with you: Vanille Exquise is not terribly feminine. It's not my favorite of that line, and I love a lot of them.

I haven't decided on a SotD. I'm going to have my hair cut this morning in a nice salon by a hair stylist I was so happy to meet. This is a big event for me, a proper haircut. She gets my hair (thick, coarse, multi-textured, and moody - it never knows what it wants to do). It's the big chopperoo for me today. Wish me luck! I don't want to come out of there looking worse than I already do! I predict that I will be smelling of luscious hair products by mid morning.

Reglisse Noire today. Sparkling in the cold.

Also I got a tax refund (good side of being laid off twice and not having as much income I guess) and spent some of it to restock the Mure Et Musc Extreme, which, annoyingly is not at the Neiman Marcus in town but was on their website with free shipping and a tote with beauty samples so it worked out fine. Hoping they pack very securely and crossing my fingers they don't use UPS, I have received more broken packages than I can count, they are brutal in my area - they literally just throw the packages up the driveway, and they tend to arrive looking like someone jumped up and down on them before putting them in the truck. US Post Office, oddly, delivers mostly intact and quickly, I think Tampa is a hub or something.

Sticking with my theme of cozy warm scents (another snowstorm today!) I'm wearing my sample of Havana Vanilla. I understand this has changed to Vanilla Absolute, or something like that. Is the scent the same though? I'm really enjoying this one.

Afternoon all!

Today dawned bright & frosty, & now it's actually quite warm here. l've just come home from work & opened the windows!

SOTM was Jacinthe et Rose by E.Coudray. Now l'm revisiting my sample of Tauer's Zeta, which l first tried nearly a year ago. l'm still getting that sour note that l got before, but also a touch of narcissus, l think.

lilybelle, l hope your hair looks fab!

(((30Roses))), I hope your mom is recuperating. Please take care of yourself, too.

Have fun, lilybelle -- changes like that can be so enlivening. Enjoy!

Thanks to those who shared their thoughts yesterday on Ineke and Byredo. I really value your opinions!

Mike, how goes the settling in? I've been thinking about you as I begin to contemplate my spring cleaning.

Still quite cold here in the Great Plains, too. I'm splitting the difference between comfort and floral cravings with Ava Luxe No. 23 (with notes of sandalwood, hawthorn blossoms, acacia, rose, Himalayan geranium, lavender, and musk). Big love.

Hugs to all.

Good afternoon from a weirdly overcast Milan- I love this light!

Still playing with my brand new samples: this morning I wore Micallef Patchouli- I like it a lot, though the patchouli itself made a very brief and fleeting appearance . Now I'm sampling Classic Myrrh by Von Euserdorff- stern, bitter, austere... wonderful! I'm very happy with my purchases

Thanks for the good luck hair wishes, Mike, Teardrop, and Extremek! They worked. I love my new haircut, it feels soooo much lighter and freer. I must have left about 2 lbs of hair under the stylist's chair. It looks sort of like a 1920s wavy bob. It's easy to care for, and much prettier than that mass of hair hanging around my face.

SotA/E is Habanita edt - naturally.

I have ages and pages of new posts to read when I can stay home.

I slept at Mom's last night, spent the whole day with her and am being relieved briefly by my husband so I could shower, get fresh clothes and write out instructions for the new 24/7 caregiver, who will start tomorrow morning.

Mom is still feeling pretty banged up and is not moving comfortably. I used the wheelchair to take her to the communal dining room today. Her shoulder and back hurt and she's had GI problems as well. It hasn't been fun, but I do think she'll be back to normal in several weeks.

Love you all!

Big big BEAR hugs 30 Roses for you and Mom. I can only hope that I am half of the child to my parents that you are to your Mom. You're Super and I hope you know that.
