Advice on wardrobe

Thread Starter
Hey everyone this is my first post to basenotes. I am new to the forum and only recently discovered my love for cologne. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions as to what I can further add to my collection of colognes. I am turning 30 this spring.

My Collection So Far:

- Baldessarini Hugo Boss
- Dior Homme
- Dolce and Gabbana Pour Homme
- Polo Black
- Versace Eau Fraiche
- Burberry London

I have a bottle of Dolce and Gabbana The One that I haven't opened yet and I'm expecting to get Creed Original Vetiver in the mail any day now (I bought it on e-bay. Hopefully it's as good as what I smelled in the store). Thanks everyone!

Carbone de Balmain perhaps.

Creed Original Vetiver is nice, but I would have likely gone for Green Irish Tweed as my first one.

Those are generally pretty good colognes to start. Actually, it's a much better collection than I started with. Three of your eight colognes are among my top 20 favorites of all time (Dior Homme, The One, and Original Veitver).

To add ... try a niche house perhaps, like Lutens. Chergui is nice, and isn't like the ones you already have. Creed GIT is, to a lot of people, the best cologne ever made, but you may not want to buy it now that you have OV, though they do smell different. Maybe an aquatic like Imperial Millesime.

Wait, you don't have any Chanels in your collection. So, I'm going to recommend Egoiste. That's a very unique cologne, smells great, and isn't overly expensive.

And, Good God, hednic has 38,490 posts? At my current pace it would take me approximately 90 years to catch up with him!

Looks good so far! How about something like a gourmand? Pure Havane is one of my favorites, or maybe Five O'clock au Gingembre.

Welcome!

Very good starting point. Many directions in which you could go, so I'll just toss off some ideas.
Avant-garde: you're missing something a little quirky and avant-garde. Examples would be Bulgari Black (rubber note), CDG2 man (lemony incense and candles), Lush Breath of God (smoky vetiver)
Classics from the 70s 80s: for a more macho feel. Azzaro pour homme (aromatic fougere), Yatagan (vegetal woody), Kouros (except the latest batch), Aramis, Chanel Antaeus, and (a touch smoother) Chanel Egoiste.
