Some fragrance names strike me as particularly clever, or roll off the tongue just right. What are your favorites?

off the top of my head...

Invasion Barbare

I like 'Mouchoir de Monsieur' and 'Midnight in Paris'.

Love 'Afternoon of a Faun" (makes me think of Pan's Labyrinth) and "Midnight In Paris" (makes me think of the Devil Wears Prada). I love them both.

If I had to narrow it down to five favorites, I'd probably go with Sartorial, China White, L'anarchiste, Encre Noir and Virgin Island Water.

Green Irish Tweed is the most evocative name I can think of for a comaratively recent scent (and, conversely, "Cool Water" doesn't fit that scent at all).

But I think Guerlain's names are generally fantastic, especially the classics, and take the cake for evocativeness and creativity. Mitsouko. Jicky. Shalimar. Samsara. Those are great names for scents.

More recently, I love the name Arsene Lupin Dandy. I wanted to buy a bottle just for the name. And the fact that it's purple.

Chergui has to be my all-time favourite along with Narciso Rodriguez for him.

Green Irish Tweed just sounds sophisticated and manly man's fragrance.

I actually have the opposite reaction with MiP... "Midnight in Paris" sounds cheap lol.

I have a fair few:

Chypre Palatin
Invasion Barbare
Orange Sanguine
All of the Slumberhouse names since they are so obscure (especially Ore)

I agree totally. All such incredible names. JICKY! How great is that.

I love telling people I'm wearing Amouage Homage even when they're not interested in what I'm wearing and even when I'm not even wearing anything. What a poser.

Etat Libre d'Orange have got to win the trophy for best names. Some sound really classy, like Afternoon of a Faun or Bijou Romantique, some are just oddly amusing like Fat Electrician, and Malaise of the 1970s and some are just going for "what did you say?" batsh*t crazy shocking. Only the creators of Sécrétions Magnifiques and Delicious Closet Queen would really go for it and outdo themselves with Don't Get Me Wrong Baby, I Don't Swallow.
