Rum based fragrances

The smell of sugary rum is to die for. Are there any fragrances based on the note of rum out there? The ones I've tried are: Vanille Absolument (love) and Frapin 1270 (also love) and that's about it. Suggest me all of the rum scents you know of! No incense, patch or leathers, please!

Yalla!

Thanks in advance.

Could you give a mini comparison between the two concentrations? Thanks!
EDIT: Never mind, this is a fragrance with a big leather note, which is simply a NO for me! Thanks anyway.

Straight to Heaven by Kilian is a good one.
Sugary rum over patchouli and cedar.

Do a search for 'bay rum'. There are dozens...

Frapin 1697

If you are not looking not to drop a ton of $$$ for a rum based scent then try Lacoste pour homme; not bad actually. But you could do a lot better on the niche side if your willing to spend a few extra dollars.

For me personally, rum, sandalwood, and sugar cane were the top three prominent notes. I didn't really detect leather but I have some strong leather fragrances in my collection so I could be missing it. This is the edt by the way.

If I remember correctly, you're a vanilla fan as well? Have you tried Mona di Orio Vanille? Rum, vanilla, and spices. Good stuff.

Yes, a huge vanilla fan! I have heard some good things about that fragrance, I will be checking that out pretty soon! Thanks for reminding me

Joop Homme Wild is an extremely good rum scent, though it took a while to grow on me as was wanting something more Joop like.

Ah man, just noticed you mentioned you didn't want a patch fragrance! lol

The only other one I can think of would be Sequoia.... Has a bit of rum in the top and mid.

Looks like the EDT is preferred by most of the BN crowd.

The fact that the EDP is a much sweeter version with less leather is definitely a good thing imo. Thanks for the links!

Joop! Homme Wild - sweet rum and tobacco, actually quite lovely and seems to be quite a hit with the fairer sex too.
Mona di Orio Vanille think of an orange creamsicle with rum in it. So basically vanilla, orange and rum. Good juice wish I had of purchased a bottle with the price was a humble $170 rather than the ridiculously $230.

Rocawear Evolution is a nice cheapie that has a huge blast of rum in it.

I haven't detected ANY leather in my Lubin EDT. It's just an insanely sexy, spicy rum fragrance with a longevity and projection well above what I thought myself. A friend smelled it on me from three meters away (7 feet?), and detected it on me after a good night of sleep (I came in to work at 2145, he smelled it and commented on the greatness of it, and commented again the next day at 0700). I applied it at ... oh ... 2030 or so. So longevity and projection is great on me, at least, even though I can't detect it for very long.

All in all, try it out. It's damn good, and as said - leather? Not in my book.

It's great to see other peoples opinions on a fragrance. I'm going to check both concentrations out just in case. Thanks bro!

Idole EDT - it's not a leather scent at all, spiced boozy rum from where I'm sitting.

Haven't tried the EDP.

The reviews I've seen on it has been quite different from yours here. Your description makes me want to get a full bottle blindly.. I have to sample it! Thanks!

If you like vetiver, you might like Helan's Vetiver & Rum. I find the combination super comforting and cheerful.

If you don't mind spices with your rum, you might like Pinaud's Virgin Island Bay Rum. This stuff is ridiculously good and dirt cheap (about $1/ounce).

I can take vetiver in small doses. Will check both out, thanks!

Profumo.it Cuba Express
With natural absolute of rum. Powerful and fantastic
post #40 of 53
Straight to Heaven is all rum and probably in my top three scents. Absolutely love it. A real feel good (feel drunk) fragrance.

We have L'Artisan Parfumeurs Havana Vanille ( or the boring name Vanille Absolue ) and Frapin 1270, which I think the very great rum scents. Another rum, that I really love now, is Majda Bakkali Fusion Sacree for Him. Maybe the best rum that I've ever tasted. You MUST try FS if you want a better and special rum scent.

If you are not averse to chocolate, Guerlain Gourmand Coquin might be worth a try.

Fusion Sacree lui is a pure gem and it gets better the more you wear it!

Thank you. Took a long time for this on to be brought up. Very nice Rum fragrance.

The whole Guerlain Homme line consists of rum scents.
Try Set Sails South Seas too.
1. Straight to Heaven (some patchouli, but this really is a must-try)
2. Lubin Idole EDP (there is a little incense & leather, but it is so dominated by rum you should try it)
3. Virgin Island Water
4. Guerlain Homme Intense
Another nod towards Guerlain Homme Intense
