Perfumeries that were 'One Hit Wonders'

I was searching for other fragrances from the two noses (Jean-Louis Sieuzac & Maurice Roger) behind Fahrenheit and was surprised (considering Fahrenheit is the greatest designer scent ever imo) that neither have done anything else of note in men's fragrance!!

Strangely the 'Nose' behind arguable my 2nd favourite Designer frag of all time (Karine Dubreuil - Gucci Pour Homme II) hasn't done anything else in terms of Men's frags either ;-/

Are there any other Perfumeries that have designed a masterpiece, but then never really created anything particularly good again?

Great idea for a thread. I think Beatrice Piquet is a good choice now sadly passed away. With her resume you wouldn't think she would be capable of creating the fantastic LIDGE. Strange that a house like Guerlain would even offer her the job.

Perhaps not quite "one hit wonders", but it seems that in the case of Bourjois, their one huge classic hit "Soir de Paris" kept them going.
In the case of L.T.Piver, Reve d'Or was possibly their one and only big hit, but it was so massive, it also captured the whole of the arabian market....even to this day !!

That we know of...

Maybe there are things we don't know.

Good idea. In for search.

John Stephen maybe?
He did Czech & Speake No. 88. Actually he did most of C&S's fragrances.
But 88 is in a league of its own. A "masterpiece" imo. The others can't hold a candle.

Maxims Pour Homme.

Maybe Roccobarocco, though I'd say it's more (poetic license hopefully accepted) a 1 1/2 hit wonder-perfumery, with:

Jeans being good, Joint being great.

Jean-Louis Sieuzac also created Hermes Bel Ami as well as Fahrenheit and could be forgiven if he retired after those stellar frags.

Not a perfumerie per se, but rather a nose behind a classic - Bob Slattery. From my reading here on Basenotes it seems he worked on Calvin Klein Obsession for men, and nothing more.
