Best of Eighties Decade

Thread Starter
I was bringing in mind my beloved scents and many of them are from 80's. Not 70's or 90's ... Most of them are from 80's. I still don´t know what appeal to me exactly. Although many would report a make-up smell i usually like that kind of smell. I think it´s the leather what attracts me more. There are three ones i love more and they are: Troisieme man by Caron, Santos by Cartier and Antaeus by Chanel. I would like to try more scents in that way, but without strong roses - I remember BigSly mentioned Leonard pour Homme in some forum. So guys, do you have any suggestion?

From the 80´s I like Polo Green (both reformulated and vintage) and Azzaro (vintage). I like powerful fragrances. I like when I can smell them on my pillow the day after.

Bel Ami especially the vintage, it's a really good spicy musky leathery scent.

Drakkar Noir

So many great ones, but without question in my mind, Giorgio for Men tops my favorite decade.

Adding to those mentioned: Jules, Derby, Edition, Parfum d'Habit, Davidoff '84, Maxims pH, Or Black, Phileas, Tenere, Gomma, Escencia, Furyo, etc.

I second Derby, Krizia Uomo, and Jules. I've never smelled vintage Bel Ami, but that's supposed to be another masterpiece of period leather. I find the current one a little too simple.

Both introduced in 1978.

Giorgio Beverly Hills V.I.P. Special Reserve
Giorgio Beverly Hills For Men
Le 3me Homme
Kouros
Gucci Nobile
Fahrenheit
Drakkar Noir
Baie de Genievre
Lauder for Men
Passion for Men
Xeryus

In no particular order.

And Obsession Calvin Klein? That was quite something.
If you want to get a modern 80's feel, try the new Eros Versace. A questionable bottle for a mediocre perfume, but it's 80's all the way!

.

Polo was introduced in 1978, but hit it's popularity in the 80's...at least in the USA on the East Coast.

True, it was popular everywhere. But, from the title of of the thread, wasn't actually from the eighties.
