Anyone do the whole syringe thing when decanting?

...or is that just overthinking things.

I was given a 1oz of D&G The One and loved it so much that I went and treated myself to the big bottle. I kinda wanna use my little 1 ouncer as my travel atomizer to refresh thoughout the night.

Personally don't decant but I have some friends who do just as you mention.

Yeah. I think it would be pretty cool when someone asks what i"m wearing and I can show them the small little bottle of it. But the syringe is the only way I can refill my 1 ouncer from what I can tell.

Sure why not - helps you not waste juice.

I don't get it. Tried it twice. One bottle I had to break it's neck in the end because I destroyed the spray mechanism (not the nozzle).
Can anyone tell me exactly which size of needle to use? Thanks!

There is no way to add fragrance into a spray bottle. You can only use the syringe to remove the liquid.

Very true. I have tried to create a negative pressure gradient/vacuum in bottles to no avail. There are some exceptions like the Dior Homme bottles where you can remove the sprayer with pliers.

I've had the same issue, apparently there are some spray mechanisms it doesn't work with. Maybe I've just been unlucky enough to strike out on the two bottles I had. I put a hole through the plastic tube of an Amouage bottle.

Here's a tip. Something I do that works really well...and is not expensive.
I do a lot of decanting for friends and I wanted a system that would be sterile and would not contaminate/mix one fragrance with another, (eg. doing a decant of Tabac Blond and afterwards doing a decant of Eau Sauvage). Trying to clean/washout a syringe to eliminate the former fragrance can be expensive, (especially using pure alcohol) and time consuming.
I needed a product that I could use once and throw away. I came up with the idea of using aluminum baking foil. Small squares cut off of a roll and rolled around a conical object to form a small funnel. It works really well and you can adjust the size of the funnel according to the size of the bottle you are decanting into. I prefer to use the thicker grade of aluminum foil.
I have never heard of decanting into a spray bottle ~ unless it has an unscrewable nozzle.

This is true, as far as I know.....(although I've never actually tried it) ?

These look pretty cool, haven't tried them.

Not cheap, but slick, and supposedly you can load them directly from the nozzle.

Tried it but couldn't get 3ml syringes, mine were 1ml. Much too small to be practical, and had problems even getting any juice in there at all, possibly because the needle was too thin. Total fail.

Sure I do the syringe thing, but you can only syringe out from or into bottles with removable screwtops. I wouldn't recommend the use of pliers on perfume bottles AT ALL as you run the risk of breaking the bottle and getting broken shards of glass into your hand.

I've done this before also. Works like a charm. When I'm lazy though, syringes come in handy.
