if you went with 2 houses for life, what 2 would you pick ?

Thread Starter
I have a brief conversation last night, with anohter BNer, and I told him I should have just gone with Amouage and stuck to my guns. He said Amouage would be far too rich and would like something lighter. He chose Micallef and I went with Amouage and YSL or Dior, as a second.

What would you go with, if you could only buy from 2 houses, from now on ?

Probably Guerlain and Creed. It is tough to choose only two, with so many good ones out there, including Amouage. I just find that I wear more Guerlain and Creed than any other house.

Guerlain and ... Serge Lutens I suppose. Or maybe one of YSL and Dior.
Creed and Chanel.
Tough decision, but I think I would go with Histoires de Parfums and Editions de Parfums.
Dior and Montale

guerlain and guerschmain

Guerlain and Serge Lutens - including their exclusives

Their range of frags are suitable for all occasions

L'artisan is my #1 choice. Don't have #2 just yet.

Guerlain and Lutens, of course.
Guerlain and Hermes. Runner up: Dior. (Tough choice, as I think I have exactly three top houses now-- those three.)

YSL and Chanel

Creed and Thierry Mugler or maybe Dior.

Definitely Maison Francis Kurkdjian, number 2 is difficult but maybe Comme des Garcons...
I can't think of a house that has a consistent range of fragrances that I like enough! L'Artisan de Parfumeur would qualify but their longevity on me is middling. Lutens - nice but the bases all smell the same to me. Amouage - good but too rich and again, similar.

Hmm...I'd say Histoire de Parfum and...I can't think of another one just yet.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian and Frapin.
I'd rather check out a favourite designer's offerings - such as the late Guy Robert, or anyone else who's compositions I really liked.
Although new regulations must be challenging IFRA members.
Definitely Malle would be one, the other is much more difficult... Probably Estée Lauder for their variety.
Guerlain & Dior (with Chanel as a favorite indiscretion)
Guerlain and serge lutens today BUT if Rochas originals where still in production it would have been Guerlain and Rochas.
Guerlain and Chanel.
At this moment: Malle and Amouage...
Ormonde Jayne and Mona di Orio.
Though I would dearly miss Guerlain and Lutens...
Amouage and Creed if I could only buy from 2 houses ever.
