Escada Homme....what happened?

I was sorting through my wardrobe for purposes of doing some swapping and was try to find some valuations and found that this is going for 249-286 USD for the 4.2 oz EDT bottle. That's insane inflation. Any thoughts?

This stuff used to sell for dirt cheap at tj maxx a few years ago. I have a mini of the edp version and i savor every little drop of it.

They can ask that but I doubt it will sell for half that if they start it at a low price. Always do a completed auction search before coming to conclusions about value. Also, I would look for an original formulation. The one I have now, by Escada, is great, but I tried one a few years ago and disliked it intensely. It's possible my tastes changed or my sensitivity was high back at that time, but after what I've experienced with reformulations, my guess is that this is the issue.

I own it and like it but it's not worth that sum IMO.

Ah yes..the citrus orangey top with a dry peppery boozy drydown. Would love to own it once again.

It usually sells for about $80-$90 these days. The price you list is rediculous and it will never sell for that much. No reason except that it dc'd.

Discontinuation and capitalist greed.

Saw it in a Burlington Coat Factory store near me a couple months ago. But it was in a glass case, and couldn't see the price.

Update: Where are you getting that insane valuation? I just did a quick google search looking for it, and found some prices in the 40-60 range, from what looks like legitimate sellers. I may check out Burlington Coat Factory later and see if it's still there, and what it's going for.

It's good stuff. Not worth top dollar, though.

Like with Magentism and many others, nobody realized how good they were until after they were discontinued. By then supply was low and demand was high.

I was lucky and fround Magnetism 3.4 oz for 24.99 at TJ Maxx about 4 years ago, and Escada pH 1.3 oz for 14.99. I wish I hung on to the Magnetism.. I recall selling it in a lot with Polo Sport, Double Black, DKNY Be Delicious, and some other treasures I regret selling.. (sold them all for like 25 bucks when I was really hard up for money). I didn't care much for Magnetism, but Escada pH which I still have, is an amazing scent. It is seriously one of the most balanced and versatile scents ever. It smells like a boozy barbershop to me. Imagine that.. a barber shop serving booze. That's an image.
