What's up, Apple grouplet? I'm typing to you on a Mac PowerBook G4 -- if I'm not on this computer, then I'm probably on my wife's new MacBook. Let's Basenote in style...

Living in a mac junkyard, I have 18 up and running, oh, 20 if you count the clones.

iMac here, for less than a year. That makes approximately 34 years that my life has been incomplete. I'll never go back.

Mac since 1988, Apple since 1978! Been through the bad (real bad) days of Mac ... and enjoying the company renewal ... so not changing any time soon! Mac Pro dual G5 ... looking to get new Intel Mac in the next year or two!

Macs allll the way friends! As a designer I would never use anything else!

Mac mini + bigscreen tv + wireless keyboard and mouse = the way to go!

(the object being - to never get off the couch!)
Have used publishing-related computers since 1973; on a G4 nowadays.
I've been a Mac user since 89 when I got a used Mac Plus and a 20... not monitor. A 20 mb hard drive. Which was a large step up from swapping discs on a Apple II

Lol, most of you have been using Macs for longer than i've been alive, thats a bit scary!
MBP for about a year. Now it's time to get an iMac for the family. Time to rid the house of the Dark Side.
Because of my music hobby, I have used Macs since the Mac Plus and SE days, ca. 1988 (that's 20 years, yikes!). Now on a MBP.

Work in the design industry and you just have to use a Mac, even if you're just a humble copywriter. Less true now, but once you're hooked...

Had a really old one (it was old when I got it in 1996!), then I got an eMac and now I've got a macbook as well.

Aloha fellow Mac-o-philes! I'm enjoying my foray into the fragrance world via a 12" G-4 Powerbook with a studio display and wireless keyboard/mouse. Still using Panther. I suppose I need to find the time to upgrade a bit one of these days!
Started with a Bondi Blue iMac in 1999 and never looked back. Now posting from an iBook G4. Dear Husband uses a 15" MBP, and there is an old iMac G4 in the office that seldom gets used these days. DH also has an old 20th Anniversary Mac carefully stored in the garage that he wants to get rid of, but I won't let him!

Yay, I'm a Maccy! In a group, even. LOL

Do y'all know the biggest MAC lover is Brit actor Stephen Fry?
I use a white macbook at home and a black macbook at work. My first computer was a second hand Macintosh Plus but I was also a Dos/Windows/Linux user for a long time before returning to the Mac.
I luv Mac's! There is nothing better...... I would not dream of going back to Windows...
Made the switch a year ago.
Really good idea.
I have an iBook G4, it's getting old but I love it so. I need an upgrade soon and will of course buy another mac. I use it in business and it never lets me down. My DH installed a windows thing on it for me when I need to access our accounting software which will only run on windows.

Hello, fellow Mac fans! I have both an iMac (the first Intel-based one) and a MacBook for travel... I can tolerate XP (and have an XP partition on my Macs just in case I run into Windoze-only environments), but I've heard so many bad things about Vista that I don't even want to touch it. BTW, has anyone seen Micro$oft's "Mojave Experiment" ads where they show Vista to XP and Mac users and fool them into thinking it's a new product? You couldn't fool me after that first blue-screen!

P.S.: The reason why I had Tux (the Linux penguin) as my avatar for a while is because I support Microsoft alternatives in general... and yes, I do have a Linux partition on my iMac.

Hello Mac Friends and fellow Basenoter's, I've been using Macs since 1984 fom the Mac SE down to my current set a MacBook Pro and a G5 at home. I use it for business and home use with no regrets, especially since Apple shares have been so good to me all these years!!

Gear update: I got the new aluminum MacBook to replace my previous hotrod PowerBook G4. It's nice, but I do miss the illuminated keyboard.
Hey there,

I've been using Macs for 6 years ( at university) and have been a proud owner of a PowerBook G4 for 5 years. My new MacBook Pro is on its way though. But that doesn't mean I'll part with my precious PowerBook (that would be like neglecting an old friend because of a new partner )
... once you go Mac you never go back!

MacBook Pro addict since 2008.
Greetings fellow Mac users!
I guess I'm dyed-in-the-wool (plus my last name starts with "Mc" so it fits very nicely). I can still remember my brother switching on that cute little 512K model (here's comes the chime! the smiling apple!) and then drawing my name with the mouse. That was in the early 80s. As senZuality sez, you never go back. After a G4 cube (!), a G4 tower, a G4 laptop, I now run a Mini--a mini that has the same horsepower as the standard Mac & Screen combo. All of 6 x 6 x 2.5 inches. I tuck it under my cinema screen and there's still 2 inches to spare.
Greetings Mac users! I'm posting from my newish Macbook Air. I've been test driving it for about two weeks now. I miss having a cd/dvd drive for running games, but other than that I'm thrilled with its light weight (3 lbs instead of 5), slimness, and the way it slips easily into my tote. I gotta admit when the Air introduced, I was very skeptical. I didn't think the weight and size difference would be enough to justify the cost. Having one in my hands has definitely converted me. I still have the old black MacBook with an Intel Core 2 Duo, and I could probably use it as an external hard drive for the Air if I get ambitious enough to figure that out, but for now the poor, old thing has spent the last two weeks underneath the sofa, neglected (sniffle). It's funny, I've been using Macs since 1999, and I feel an attachment to them that I never did with a PC.

Btw, WWDC is coming up next week! New toys, yay!

Such a very solid OS, I like it.
