Sri Lankan Vetiver essential oil, White Lotus Aromatics

Doesn't smell like a typical vetiver at first. It still possesses earthy characteristics but smells woodier with a soft nutty creaminess. There's a well-behaved smokiness at the beginning but this soon dissipates to reveal a woody core. A wonderful slow burner.

Sri Lankan Vetiver essential oil, Eden Botanicals

Smells very different to the White Lotus Aromatics version – coming across as a typical vetiver of the Javanese or Madagascan variety. After an hour or so, it settles down to something similar to the White Lotus Aromatics' Sri Lankan vetiver but isn't as compelling.

Sri Lankan Vetiver essential oil, Oshadhi

It's almost exactly the same as the Sri Lankan vetiver from White Lotus Aromatics, which may come as good news to those living outside the US (White Lotus Aromatics no longer ships abroad). The main difference discernible is that the White Lotus Aromatics version is slightly stronger. However, this is probably due to oxidisation as the bottle is several months old, whereas the newly received Oshadhi oil comes from a very recent distillation. Furthermore, the Oshadhi version initially smells fresher, while the White Lotus Aromatics oil possesses a velvety chocolate nuance quite similar to patchouli absolute. Hopefully, with time, it will age in very much the same way. Highly recommended!
