    1. 1. What was your first fragrance?

I couldn't possibly say! I've been fortunate enough to be able to collect samples, minis and testers since I was about 8, which was a long time ago. But I do remember that early entrants to my little stash were Poison, Must De Cartier, Coco, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme and Drakkar Noir.

    2. 2. Desert Island fragrance?

Oh dear! This is a VERY tough one. Depending on the day, it would be Habit Rouge, Lonestar Memories, Gold Man or Antaeus. And if I had to choose some for my wife, Madame Persolaise, I'd go for Chanel No 5, Nahema, Portrait Of A Lady and Shalimar.

    3. 3. Favourite book?

      A well-annotated copy of Hamlet

    4. 4. Favourite film?

      Three Colours Red

    5. 5. Favourite food?

Pretty much ANYTHING served at Rouen's Le Rouennais restaurant... especially their Marmite Du Pecheur.

    6. 6. Favourite place in the world?

The space right next to Madame Persolaise.

    7. 7. Favourite music/Desert Island Disc?

If I don't type 'Madonna' here, those who know me will say I'm being extremely economical with the truth, but as this is a perfume context, I'll go for Nina Simone's My Baby Just Cares For Me because it always makes me think of Chanel No 5.

    8. 8. What hobbies/interests do you have apart from fragrance?

Movies. People watching. Moaning about not having enough time to read. Finding excuses to be near any branch of Laduree. Searching for the perfect brioche recipe.
