Default Oh, no, I've fallen in love!

It's rare that I fall so head over heels (nose over forehead? hmmmm...) for a fragrance that I feel that I must have it right then and there. Last time this happened it was j'adore, and I was thankfully able to purchase some right away (had the line of credit handy, heh).

This time though, I really cannot justify spending the money right now on a new bottle of fragrance. I've spent a LOT of money stocking up for Mother's Day, and I've bought a few for myself (because I can almost never resist throwing in "a little something" at wholesale prices).

But, silly me, tonight I tried a sample I've had around for a while and I fell in love, and I won't be able to do anything about for... well, a while. I'm sitting here sniffing the lingering base notes of the fragrance and thinking how much I'd love to put on some body lotion and EDP of it and drink in this fabulous and delicious fragrance, and ... *sniff*

That new order better get here soon to distract me, I'll say that much....

The perfume I've just fallen in love with, by the way, is Burberry London. I'm really, REALLY surprised that I love it this much, as it's fairly sweet (but in a creamy-sweet way, not in a sugary candy sweet way), and normally sweet fragrances and I don't get along very well, but this.... gaaahhhh. YUMMY. Really, truly yummy, at least with my personal chemistry.

*siiiiigh* I can wait... I can wait.... I can wait.... I can wait....

I may have to go wash my skin and hide the rest of the sample and then put on something else to get my mind off how much I want to go right now and order some of this delicious stuff....

I just wanted to post this where people would understand the difficulty I'm in.

Oh, but just think about how sweet it's gonna be when I CAN get some of my very own.... ;D

    Someday you'll have it.

I think of the colognes I don't have but just sigh because I realize that I will eventually own all of them. I so much more time to buy all those that I can't get my hands on now. I just know that in time it will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine.

Sampling is terrible for me. I go crazy when I sample. I think a lot of us do. It is hard not to go out and buy the samples in full bottles!! It is hard to fight that impulse. I would hide it. Those little vials are dangerous. They make me spend too much money.

Eventually you'll get your shipment and then you'll use them for a while and decide that your birthday is comming up and maybe you can get it then....

I actually find sampling helps. I usually become sated on a fragrance in one or at most two samples. If I still want more, I know it's real love. Then I still prioritize -- do I want it more than anything else on my wish list? I do understand how you feel, though. Sometimes I want something so badly, and wait for it, finally get it, so thrilled with anticipation. After I get it home, the thrill is not quite the same anymore.

Sometimes, I fear, the thrill of finding it and acquiring it is more exciting than actually WEARING it.... although I will say I'm still totally enthralled with j'adore.

I've put the sample of the Burberry away. I won't go near it until I can get it. I can resist temptation only to a certain level...
