    Default Men's Style Websites

    Hi everyone!

I posted this before on ezboard, but the topic seems to have gone missing along with everything else...

Does anybody know of a website, a bit like basenotes, but focused on men's style and fashion? I'm looking for articles, forums, some other information and some good advice from other guys.

I'm the first to admit that I'm a bit style-challenged (which I hope can be remedied!!!), and I'm looking for some good, solid, sensible, timeless advice.

    Thanks in advance!

    Damian

    www.men.style.com

the most comprehensive mens site out there. not only does it have almost every designers full collection in photos (from many seasons), but also features, news, and some nice messageboards. but the photo collections are priceless (other sites charge for this type of thing)

If you are interested in bespoke clothing, try www.thelondonlounge.net

They focus on Savile Row and Italian custom clothing but the members offer a lot of insight into dressing well in general.

    www.askmen.com

More of an overall mens site than just fashion, but they have articles on fashion as well...

Ask Andy Fashion Forum is a more "matured" forum.
For the younger set, try Style Forum. Do a quick search on Google and you will get there.

Andy's even has a discussion on bespoke clothing. Fashion talk for the hardcore sartorialists.

I would also like the add The Rake: http://www.therakeonline.com/

hmmm, my vote goes to styleforum
NEW SPLITS - By Kilian A Taste of Heaven and Beyond Love (full 50ml bottles). .

Most of the time I am very proud of the Basenotes community. Time after time I have witnessed the thoughtfulness, empathy & genuine friendship that members of this community extend to others - oldtimers & newcomers alike. There are other times, however, when egos get the upper hand and civility goes out the window. My philosophy is that I won't say anything here that I would not say if you were standing in front of me. Welcome to Basenotes, each and every one of us. ~ TwoRoads

Count me as another vote for www.styleforum.net. I like it because it covers the whole range of men's clothing. Whether you're interested in high-end designer sneakers or Savile Row tailored suits, there's a section for you. And because it draws members from varying ages and stations in life, it makes the off-topic sections extremely interesting.

Yeah, I veiw Styleforum as the basenotes of fashion. True enthusiasts post regularly, and they even have their own equivalents for much loved/hyped fragrances (e.g. APC jeans are often brought up as a standard for jeans, kinda like the GIT of styleforum if you will).

I post on Style Forum regularly and it's pretty good, especially if you are looking for advice on work place attire and don't mind sifting through the "clothes horse nerd" stuff - similar to what you get on BaseNotes. People on there take fashion to the extreme and get bogged down with minute details and often recommend clothing that you'll never, ever see on a guy in real life.

If you want to know what a good suit looks like, why buying American/British/French/Italian-made shoes & ties are your only real option, and access to an intense but (mostly) convivial community, SF is great.

Ask Andy is also solid, but you also get the same nerdiness you get on SF. Things like "jeans should never, ever be worn after 30" are commonly bandied about with absolute seriousness.
