    Default Steve Jobs, The Fragrance

For those of you who love Apple products (iPod, Macintosh),
here's a somewhat tongue-in-check article that wonders when
we will see Apple create its own fragrance.
    http://www.marketwatch.com/News/Stor...9-d23cbc95d927

So, what kind of fragrance would you make for such a company?
    Fruity? Chypre? Fougere? Leather?
Maybe just take "Be Delicious" and rebrand it as "Macintosh Eau de Toilette"?

I'm pretty sure they'll never do that, but if they would, I could only think of a metallic smelling fragrance.

Perhaps just repackage Demeter's Apple Pie in an iPod Nano casing?

I love what some companies do, creating scents that people are supposed to connect to their stores or headquarters, I just love it and find it highly interesting. I know threre are just myriads of examples out there, hotels and what not. Samsung being another one. I'd love to smell Samsung, even though it is just supposed to be part of a bigger experience and not treated as a scent only-experience.

Personally, I could see Steve Jobs wearing Mugler Cologne with his black turtleneck, blue Levi's, and New Balance shoes.

It just smells like him and Apple.

(P.S.: I own two iPods and an iMac in addition to my huge smell collection.)
    Top 5 for Winter:
    1) Musk Oud - By Kilian
    2) Straight to Heaven - By Kilian
    3) Back to Black - By Kilian
    4) Encre Noire - Lalique
    5)
M7 (vintage or Oud Absolu) - YSL

no way man, Mac whole brand image is about clean & smooth & white with rounded-corners, etc (I mean, think about the ipod) ergo, L'Eau de Jobs is none other than Ck one.

Steve's been wearing Nike Moires lately- changes are afoot.

I think that Apple perfume would smell like CdG Odeur 53.

Ha ha, I like this topic!
It would have to be a niche frag; Mac users are the elite... only the unwashed masses use Windows or (insert any popular designer frag here)

It would have to be expensive... Macs cost more.

It would have to be extremely modern; nothing old would be acceptable, not even something like Creed.

Bottom line: You'd need highest quality, and something that gives you a feeling of smug superiority.

    I'd nominate: Musc Ravageur

PS: I'm part of the great unwashed, and aspire to join the elite.

The fragrance arrives in a simple, ultra-white box with slightly rounded corners, featuring a small off-white Apple logo on the front, free engraving of your name on the back and "Intel Core Duo Inside" below it. The instructions state to charge it via an enclosed USB adapter before opening (after all, you don't want a flat fragrance, do you?)

Once charged overnight, opening the box reveals a square pure-black stainless steel bottle resting on a soft cushion of white velvet. As as reminder of the content's potential to cause both enchantment and confusion, the front of the bottle features the notorious MacOS dual-personality logo - a smile that is either friendly or mocking, depending on viewer's mood.

True to Apple's philosophy of simplicity, the bottle has no cap or pump or any other dispenser buttons. Rather only a small atomizer opening hints at the expected direction of perfume stream while nothing obvious indicates a way of extracting it out of the container. Many a puzzled shopper have not been amused being sprayed straight into the eye while trying to look into the opening and accidentally squeezing the bottle - Apple's design austerity if not eccentricity lives up to its true roots in this latest product.

And as for the fragrance itself?

I'm sure it's possible but have no idea as to the genre it would be. Moreover, I know I would pass on it whatever form it took.

They would probably just copy the Samsung fragrance and then double the price these days...

It would be made by comme des garcons & the notes would be patchouli & hemp (to signify his hippie origins), melting plastic accord (to signify a hot computer/iphone), incense (to signify his rise to fame) & finally apple accord (to signify his empire).

    Odd thread, interesting thought though.

When I think of Jobs, I think of a generic soapy smell. To go along with his jeans and turtle neck.

Clean, fresh, but with a mind largely concerned with other things.
