Default When you're tired of subtlety

You know, some days I wake up and think, "My smeller needs a holiday - it's been working too damned hard lately trying to detect the most miniscule subtleties and infra-notes in all these fancy schmancy niche frags that I've been "spritzing" oh so dantily on my pulse points. It's time for a NOSE-CATION. A virtual punch in the nose with a straight forward technicolor beast of a scent that takes no thinking to enjoy. An olfactory fight club. Forget the first class seat on Air France, we're gonna ride the bus to snort town today, boys".

Today was just such a day, after an aphabet soup week of CDG's and L'AP's and MPG's, I slammed on some good old GUCCI POUR HOMME - and I mean lots of it.

The dogs have gone outside. The family has vanished. I am left bathing in all my hamster-cage glory as I ice down the beer and wait for the Daytona 500 to appear. It's one hell of a day in manville.

So what do you fellas slap on your bad selves when you need to prove that you can smell any damned way you please? - and smile when you say that, Pilgrim.

isn't doing this sort of.....obnoxious? If I 'slap' on a lot of envy, I start sneezing and feel alergic. What's the point of wasting good cologne, it's not like you'd go out in public like that, and if you did, you're a jerk.

Yea, I really like Envy, too. The Gucci frags, IMHO, are all very, very good. Been wanting to try Santal Noble as well - does it have longevity? That seems to be my biggest problem in the winter with dry skin.

And Business Wallette - Easy there, pardner. My home on Sunday afternoon isn't usually a public place. 'Specially when the dogs and family are elsewhere. [smiley=beer.gif]

SN is one of the longest lasting frags I own. I think many here will attest to its longevity. Easily lasts at least 8 hours on my skin. Big sillage too.

And to give you an idea of what "longevity" and "sillage" means on me, I normally spray 2-5 sprays on various body and clothing parts - no more than 6 for any frag I own.

tired of subtlety? BULGARI BLU except, I am tiring of that too quickly

ROCHAS LUI bought for those days

CARON ACACIOSA extrait - as a last resort! It's for women and the strongest I know
of. If that is not perceived by anybody in the same room immediately, he/she must

Guerlain Vetiver makes me nearly euphoric. It's not the sillage monster like A*Men, but it is so sensual (clean and earthy) to me. I even spritz the back of my hand everytime before I go to bed and I sleep well.

There were two things that came to mind as soon as I saw the title of this thread, Kouros and Antaeus. And with further thought, Trussardi Uomo, Yatagan and Bois du Portugal joined the list (though I cant say I would personally ever wear the last two...).

LOL Six, i wonder about that too. Most of my frags are heady and spicy, it's the only way to go imo.

That being said, when i need that one glorious punch to the nose, i spray a few squirts of Opium PH EDP to the chest. AHHHH!!!
Are you not entertained??? Is this not why you are here??

Look, if your goal is to vanquish subtlety, then go to your local drugstore and pick up a bottle of Brut, or Jade East or Dana's English Leather and put some REAL stank on it.

I am ALWAYS tired of subtlety.

    Hmmm...Yatagan for instance...

In fact, all of my top 10ers are strong enough, at least...

Some say "less is more", I say "too much is not enough."

In general, Idon't go for subtle frags either. I usually go for Gucci PH, Azzaro Visit, or Michael Kors. I've tried this with M7 also and gotten headaches....

Yatagan? Subtle? Surely you jest! With all that potent celery sillage wafting six feet behind you?

On me Yatagan is about as subtle as trying to board a flight with a two foot scimitar poking out of your carry on bag.

No subtlety? Sounds like a job for:

Give a few liberal dashes of that and add a can of Natural Light, throw on a wife beater and boil up some hotdogs.
The pursuit of philosophy is the hope that there is more to life than we realize. By philosophy, however, we come to realize that in fact there is less to life than previously imagined.

Strangely enough, on me, Yatagan is quite subtle. On friend once smelled it and said, "It's light and clean." No lie! Yatagan! It smells very much like clean earth on me after a half-hour or so, very ginseng-like. Animalic notes don't stand much chance on me - I must have some sort of grim reaper thing going on...
