    Default Jasmine heavy mens/unisex scents?

    Anyone think of any?

Ever since I went to Tunisia, I have this mad obsession with jasmine!

Alien has it in bucket loads but I want something a little more masculine.

    Anyone?

    :-/

Try Samsara, the sharpness of sandalwood is tempered by jasmine or actually vice versa, depends on where you are on the drydown with this scent. I actually had a good friend of mine (male) begging what this scent was.

And there is of course Dreamer if you prefer something even more masculine...marketing wise, that is. Dreamer came across as a shared scent when I first tried it back in its day of creation.

YSL Kouros has strong jasmine note, especially the lighter sport or eau d'ete versions.

What about the mythical Chanel No. 5? There are tons of jasmine from Grasse in it! Moreover, being made so abstract by aldehydes overdosage melting everything so well with a strong sandalwood base, it's not percieved as so feminine.
Another great suggestion is Samsara, but here jasmine is more detectable as very feminine to me.
If you like something more masculine, I suggest Bulgari Black having a strong jasmine sweetness in it or Arpège PH with its jasmine+iris powdery sweet heart.

Col, did I read that correctly? YOU want something that is masculine...tee hee.

I just had a look on an obscure website that was something like Basenotes directory and put in jasmin as a note and masculine..... I got 230 matches.

This one stands out as something that might suit your needs....

Penhaligon's Hammam Bouquet. Loaded with rose and, praise be, jasmine galore. A great scent in an old style. It might work, and I hope it does. Otherwise if you can track down Alain Delon's Samourai it's got a healthy jasmine as well.

Good luck CoL, a heavy jasmine scent sure is a delight and when it's made into a masculine fragrance we get to pat ourselves on the back for pulling it off.

Forgot to mention also Lutens Clair de musc, overdosed jasmine on a musky base. Pretty wearable by a man (who actually isn't scared by Narciso Rodriguez i.e.)

The different Company Jasmin de Nuit is a very interesting mix of Jasmin & spices.
Egyptian jasmin, amber, blackcurrant, star anis, spices, cinammon, cardamom, sandalwood

i think this one would be worth a shot

    I second A La Nuit.....intense jasmin

Annick Goutal Songes is lovely (very femme though) edt is less sweet EDP is creamier & sweeter
Notes of Frangipani, Absolute of Ylang-Ylang, Absolute of Jasmine and Absolute of Vanilla.

Also Annick Goutal makes a soliflore of jasmin ~ le jasmin....a dry ashy quality to it.
Chantecaille also makes a jasmin ....similar to feel of AG

MPG makes a great jasmin but both MPG & SL may be too feminine

I have a really interesting jasmin & oud scent scent Killer scent me....if you like Oud this one is OUTRE masculine i'd be happy to send you a bit....if you're looking for pure jasmine then stick with MPG, SL and if you don't mind some spices thrown in the mix TDC is a really good bet

this sounds like another désir marocaine! Have you tried the Tauer scent yet? It has jasmine and incense. You can order samples in Britain now, I hear. There is nothing like the real flower which you will also find in southern Spain till almost October! (I am looking for a clean, bright jasmine oil myself).

CoL - my recommendation would be Creed's Royal Delight - it's jasmine-heavy and unisex. I love it. In fact, now I think of it, it's not a million miles away from Gaultier 2 in style. Let me know if you're interested in a sample, as I recall you're in the UK?

Isn't there a little masculin jasmin lurking around behind the citrus in Diors Eau Sauvage?

in general, i don't think that the jasmine used in mans scents are very top quality...but here are some recs:

Ferrari (Red) by Ferrari -is it really for men?
Venezia Uomo by Laura Biagiotti -yum!
Hombre de Flores Jasminum by Fresh
Polo Crest by Ralph Lauren - somewhatt similar to the original but the heart of jasmine can't be missed
ExciTED by Ted Lapidus -"young", light sweet scent

Talking of jasmin heavy scents, I just won the new Burberry London for women (100ml tester with lid) off ebay for £9:50! It was listed as the mens one by mistake!

    WEE HEEE!

    ;D

    So glad you like it!

If the idea of jasmine and leather sounds tempting, try also Etro Gomma and Keiko Mecheri A Fleur de Peau (and not a word to the bank manager, please, or he'll kill me)
