Default Collection Homme Atlas Cedar by Brosseau

Can anybody tell me anything about this? I found it for a great price. However, what are the notes (cedar obviously)? Anybody?

Hey, Paintrman, I've smelled it in a shop, and that was enough for me. Straight on, dead ahead, hard charging, charge of the heavy brigade, cedar. Too much for me, and I like cedar. Cedar in moderation I guess is what I prefer. Brousseau's is so heavy it is cloying and sickening. I couldn't stand it. Cedar is a great base for a mix of blends but in this is a cedar mutant child. Too much and no fun.

Wet and sweet cedar, not dry, with all the nice shifts of very pleasant odor that cedar has, I'll give it that.

It's one you won't forget though. One test strip a few months ago is all it took for me. I wish I didn't have the scent's shape still left over in my brain.

I didn't do a skin test though. I hope others will post contrary thoughts to mine.

Just snatched a big bottle of this on ebay for a song. Hope it will be better than Tumulte ph, which I found to be terribly monotonous and synthetic.
    Therse are the notes:
clementine, rhubarb, green and ozonic notes
    nutmeg, cardamom, jasmin, cinnamon
cedar, thuja wood, amber, iris, musk, sandalwood

Thé Brun (Brown Tea) is excellent stuff -- check out my review.

It's lovely stuff, but not for everyone. (Think Lapsang Souchong with even more smokiness. If Yang is very palatable green tea and musk, TB is more smoke and straight essence of the cured tea leaf itself.)

I bought this a while back and have worn it a few times. I really like it, though the longevity isn't what I hoped for. It sticks around, but goes much milder than it started out.

Here's my review for Basenotes (posted):

    "Really interesting:

Top: Clementine, rhubarb, green notes, ozone notes
    Middle: Nutmeg, cardamom, jasmine, cinnamon,
Base: Cedar, juniper wood, iris, sandalwood, amber, musk

Kind of unprepossessing on paper, but much better on my skin. A resiny, deep woodsy accord right off the bat, slowly evolving into something a bit sweeter and slightly awkward for a bit; then it projects a really piney, resinous note with a hint of floral sweetness (the jasmine or the iris?) and a tantalzing bit of saltiness. Ended up leaning into the wind by the junipers plastered to the ground by years of sea squalls. This is a cool scent overall, but paradoxically, will probably do nicely in cooler, wetter weather."

On a recent trip to Morocco I fell in love with thuja wood. I bought a large thuja wood box to keep my decants. I was wondering if any fragrance uses this wood. I'll have to give this one a try.

I know the scent well -- it's a very pungent red cedar smell. Have you tried Equus?

I'll second the recommendation of Equus, which is a glorious cedar scent.

The Borsseau I didn't like at all - found it cloying and weak kneed. (I do, however, own and love Tee Brun, which is by far the best of the Brosseaus for men.)
