    Default Mediterraneum...

Discontinued, but has popped up out of the woodwork again at a steal! Buying it blind off eBay, only $5.55 (100 ml) with BuyItNow w/ $9.98 shipping. 50 ml bottles also available for cheap. It's a pour bottle, don't know if they ever made a spray version, but I didn't hesitate, finally getting some decant bottles for my pour scents so there's no contamination.

    Here's the link...only 3 left of the 100 mls:

Is this the Versace scent? I am confused as to why I sometimes see Proteo Spa (as with this listing) and Proteo Profumi (as makers of Sud Est) as the design house. Can you comment on this scent, and/or what the Proteo house is all about?

Good question...if Versace actually created it, I haven't heard about it. I think the Directory once said that it was created by Versace for his, ahem...'good friend'. Other sites say this scent was created by Proteo for Fabio. If there were two scents indeed under the same name, I'm not certain.

I'm buying it blind since the price isn't really killing me, not to mention it's discontinued and don't think I'll find it at a better price anywhere.

It was not really a Verace scent but the signature scent of Fabio it was distributed through Versace Perfumes.

I find this to be less cloying yet richer than opium. IMO better for my tastes.

Just received my bottles today. Tested it, and quite a welcome surprise. THIS IS A KEEPER! It starts off being green and mossy like Balenciaga PH's opening notes, then transitions to the familiar wood and cardamom of Nemo, then the woodsy vanillic and spiciness of Opium PH., and finally the spicy greed woody nature of Bois du Portugal 4-in-1, NOT BAD AT ALL! Pretty good longevity too, and Vegas was right, nothing cloying about it.
