CK Escape, CK Obsession & TH Freedom were all pretty appalling
There are some regrettings, but Le Male wins by far. I'm so glad I sold it.

Versace The Dreamer
Valentino V (semi-blind)
Nautica Sunset Voyage (semi-blind)
We should have a "Regrettable Blind-Buy Trade-Off".
I'd be more than willing to trade a spanking new Comme des Garcons (minus 1 spray) for someone else's olfactory nightmare. As they say....one man's nightmare is another mans dream...( or something like that anyway...)
I have to say Boss Bottled - Hugo Boss. I brought it home and could just not smell it!
didnt like versace dreamer
or bulgari PH
or GIT / SMW
Off-Site Decants =) (updated 05/16/12)
Caron Pour Un Homme. Hated it. Nostrils raped by coarse Lavender turning to a sickly sweet and insipid vanilla.
M7 - What a clumsy God-awful scent this is. That Oudh note is over-played and ham-fistedly so. Dreadful.
Givenchy Gentleman - just what about this is there to like. It's like a punch in the mouth with a pain that won't subside. Awful fragrance. I have nothing in my extensive wardrobe of scents by Givenchy and this is part of the reason why.
In a world where people smell bad, it is the personal responsibility of every Basenoter to improve the world one SotD at a time...
Corduroy - smells like an old bandaid and an open sore. Swear to God - that's what I smell.

Peace ~ Markymark
Worst: Lanvin Arpege.
Reminded me of really old people and is extremely overbearing and strong. The three hours i wore it at home when i got it, my brother (college) and his three friends wanted to kill me.
Definitley not something for a high school kid.
Best: L'eau d'Issey Pour Homme
Got a 125 mL for just $30, and its perfect. The longevity is great and its rather inoffensive and pleasant, while striking.

The blind buy that I most regret is Apparition Homme Intense by Ungaro. The fragrance has strong anise notes, which I don't like. But I did pick it up for cheap.
The best blind buy was Bois de Filao by Comptoir Sud Pacifique. I bought a 50mL bottle for $9.00. And ended up going back and getting a second bottle after testing.
Nothing in particular. It's been years that i haven't had a blind buy anyways.
Amor pour homme/Cacharel
Smells like an electric iron scorching a shirt that has been sprayed with too much starch.
Tsar/Van Cleef & Arpels
Just nothing special to me at all. But then I understand it's been reformulated--more than once.
Snarky is as snarky does.
Nuit de Longchamp by Lubin. I could only see a woman wearing this.
Caron Parfum Sacre. It is all cloying powder on me. I am still willing to give it a chance. Every once in a while I get it out of my desk drawer and apply a bit. Maybe I have worn it in the wrong kind of weather.
Balmain ambre gris - but i have not made that many blind buys and that one only cost me $21 I think so was not too bad, ended up doing a swap after

Not exactly blind, I have bought after first smelling it on a card...
Chanel Platinum Egoiste
Smelling it on someone else...
When I was younger and before Basenotes, thought the bottle and the name was interesting ...
Luckily most of my bad blind buys are now sold, though I still have a few from Marshalls floating around. If I had to judge which buy had the greatest disparity between what I thought it would smell like vs. what it actually smells like, it would have to be Clean Men.
Thank goodness I only bought a 30ml bottle, ordered blind from beauty.com. The fact they sell it for what? $70+ at Sephora is criminal. It is the most awful, piercing citrus and not in a good way. Room freshener material only.
I would never blindbuy a perfume, since they won't come cheap. I just bought a Diesel Plus Plus, and I don't know how it smells, but it probally won't be a regret since it gets lots of compliments for it's price.
unico grande amore.
CK Man, CK Euphoria, Gucci By Gucci Pour Homme.
CK Man - Rather meh frag to my nose. Doesn't last. But rather fresh in a woody/herbal sort of way
Gucci By Gucci Pour Homme - Expensive. Doesn't last. Boring.
CK Euphoria Man - Worst of all. Got it as a Xmas gift fr GF. Last for 2 hrs max on me.
Paul Smith London - nice topnotes but the drydown makes me sick. Reminds me of bug spray. Worst part..this frag last for weeks. Bought a faulty bottle and it leaked in my car. Car smelled of this for weeks.
Monsieur Givenchy (original formulation was much better smelling and lasting)
Infusion d'Homme - Prada (headache-inducer)
Tuscany - Aramis (zero longevity)
Will however continue to buy blind if i dont have the luxury of sampling. What's life and passion without risk?
ointments and perfume delight the heart....
Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria : Pamplelune = CAT PEE
The Dreamer - Versace
Looking to purchase - Aventus any size or participate in a split
Habit Rouge....i tried to like it, but i ended up binning it!!! i didn't even consider giving it away.......absolutely f;kin horrible!!!!
Cartier Roadster. It smells like a real sweaty sock with a touch of mint.
Don't know if I should call it blind buy, but decided to hit ross and tj max.
Now out of the 5-6 bottles I got, only 1 I liked. Well I learned my lesson.
it smelled great at first but then after a month it turned into something that smelled like varnish being sanded off of wood
farenheit by christian dior
liked it at first but then after 2 weeks i realized it had an old man vibe to it because of the violet leaf and it did not appeal to me anymore to i gave that to my grand father
joop! nightflight is just an absolute headache basenoters if you have a weed problem in your backyard or front yard use perfume(that you don`t like) just spray the stem from the bottom about 10 times and it`ll be dead the next morning
82 Pour Homme by Fashion Two Twenty is......
my candidate for absolute worst blind buy I have ever been stupid ( or courageous ) enough to make. The CIA could use it as an interrogation tool to extract information.
multiple fake creeds
Looking for Hermessence Ambre Narguile and for TFPB Moss Breches (50ml bottle), willing to pay in cashdollars. PM me!
ps fine cologne is one blind buy i regret the most. what's worse, everybody seems to, erm, dislike it, to put it mildly. i've been thinking how to imaginatively use it somehow rather than simply bin it. you've been warned.
fuel for life
So far, none, though I am slightly disappointed about the longevity of On El, thought is fragrance notes are great
Secretions Magnifiques. I'm happy that i just bought a 10ml and it was cheap.
I got very disappointed with tom ford extreme, because it wasn't so strong and longlasting as i expected. But it wasn't bad, just doesn't worthy the price i paid.
Bulgari pour Homme - smells like a bottle of watered down spray starch. I'm glad I only bought a tester.
Versace The Dreamer
Paco Rabanne pour Homme. How was I to know that PRpH was the fragrance one of our University's personality-disordered instructors wore?? Not that the fragrance is bad, the associations are tied in with abuse.
One the opposite end, however, is Amouage Jubilation XXV. Mrs. J. and I love it. But it was my last/only higher end blind buy. Mmmmmmm!!!! :-)
Yep!You risked a $250 blind buy? Good scent, BTW. Glad it worked out. What if it hadn't?
If it hadn't, I'd have used it as a personal lesson in enthusiasm; that it is OK to stretch out, take a risk, take that chance, and on occasion crash and burn. In my industry, clinic basements are filled with tens of thousands of dollars of enthusiasms gone awry so a bottle of Jubilation XXV was fair play. I'd already set out a plan to make it a net-zero impact on our budget---6 fewer trips to dinner at Red Robin.
It's Mrs. J's ''go to'' scent now.
