^My grandfather happens to be a dirty old man with narcolepsy, and he smells nothing like Kouros..

I'm not sure why, but I like wearing Kouros to bed (alone!) occasionally. There's something warm and comforting about it.

But now I'm p-d off that none of the men in my life wear Kouros. I'm going to have to figure out which one I'll designate for that purpose.

Give it a real test bro and spray on your skin and let it develop. Spray it lightly on your clothes. A card does no justice. And it does not help to see the SA's sour face.

When I bought Kouros, the SA told me that it was the one frag that she wouldn't let people spray in the store
I told her that if she didn't give me some samples, I'd start spraying it everywhere. So she tossed me a sample of Joop and said, "here, you're probably the kind of person who would like this."

    Joop=ick

My gf likes fresh scents, but once she has a drink or two the truth comes out: I think she secretly likes the Kouros.

On a side note, I agree that M7 is very forgiving of heavy spraying, even though a lot of people here have commented to the contrary. I also have no problem with a heavy application of Rive Gauche.

I still haven't really warmed up to Kouros to the point of making a purchase, but testing Kouros and Kouros Cologne Sport with a light, misty spray definitely gave me a new perspective on both fragrances.

I must be one of the few who are on the fence about Kouros--I neither love it nor hate it, but I do like it more and more each time I test it.

Just because it happened to you doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

I do this when I have insomnia--it's better than a sleeping pill. Comforting as hell.

I'll have to try it out with a light mist next time I am near Sephora. I'll probably also try it at various times throughout the year to see if temperature/humidity makes a difference.

I am with you on the fence. I did hate it at first, but at some point it occurred to me - there is no point in wasting energy "hating" a fragrance. Either it works or it doesn't. After 5 or so tests, all with the same result, I gave up. So I guess for now, Kouros does not work on me.

Upon spraying a bit of Kouros on my arm to test it, it is the only fragrance that has ever made me jolt my head back in horror and grimace.

Two hours later I couldn't stop smelling my arm.

    Irrational, I know.

I think I might get myself some Kouros.

Haha this is true. I smelled Eau Lente (a "soft vanilla spice smell," i had read) and it smells like piss mixed with spiced apple cider to me. Kouros is way better if you want a piss smell ;D

Many thanks to all who have imparted their thoughts and most humorous musings on Kouros. The very colourful commentaries are some of the main reasons I have fallen in love with basenotes as a most informative and thought-provoking forum.

    Keep up the good work!
