Default Looking for elegant, sophisticated office frags

I'm going to have to wear suit & tie in the future at work and I'm looking for frags that reflect this image. Of course, I'll be wearing my beloved Baldessarini and also some Kiton for men. Any other suggestions, mainstream or niche?

Caron Le 3e Homme (The Third Man)

This is classy stuff. Very easy to wear with a suit, although you could roll up your sleeves and loosen your tie a little with this one as well. One of my favorites.

    Acqua di Parma Colonia

    Bois du Portugal (lightly applied)

As has been suggested, Third Man is a great choice.

    Diptyque Tam Dao

    Lorenzo Villoresi Uomo

    Chanel Egoiste

    Chanel Allure pour Homme

Check out some of the more refined scents from L'Artisan. They are subtle, which makes them good for the off off, but they also carry some class. O! Piper Nigrum would be nice too. Also can't go wrong with TM Cologne.

I spent time working around Ted Turner. He wore Antaeus almost exclusively. The scent came off as entirely natural and as magnetic as himself.

Habit Rouge, although most think they can't pull it off. It has spirit most of the others can't even begin to match.

Already suggested Bulgari Pour Homme and Chanel Allure Homme are excellent choices IMHO!!

To that I'd add Mont Blanc Presence and Boss #6 (the later one more mainstream but nevertheless awesome stuff)...

THere's some great recomendations so far!

One brand that doesn't seem to get talked about too much here is Hugh Parsons and I'm not sure why.

Both Hugh Parsons Traditional (the blue one) and 99 Regent Street would fit the bill very nicely. They are both bright and complex, but still somewhat understated in that way the British do so well.

They might not get you overt compliments, but they will have your co-workers thinking you're sophisticated.

Think Balenciaga's Ho Hang. Parfum1 has 100 ml testers for around $22.

Ditto on the above, and also... For casual elegance, why not try Hermès Rocabar?

    I'm wearing Pasha today.

It can be iffy on me. If I wear it too high up my chest it can be cloying... there is a lot of siliage with this one. Better to wear it under clothes rather than on bare skin. A lot of mint, and some spices. It is kind of along the lines of Baldessarini, but Baldessarini is a lot more sweet, while Pasha is way more minty IMHO.

I find Allure Pour Homme way too sharp for the office. It's more of an evening/romantic scent.

    Other possibilities:

    Perry Ellis (original)
    Givenchy Xeryus
    Givenchy Pi
    L'Eau d'Issey
    Lauder Intuition for Men
    Patrick Dempsey Unscripted

I agree, if anything, then try the Allure Homme clone Perry Ellis M for men, which has a lot less power and sillage and lasts a lot less, but i think it's much more suitable for office work in that line of scent.

If you'd prefer, it would be best to go all the way into elegance with a spray or two of Lalique Pour Homme Faune then, that would get you scented with no risk of being called "the cologne guy".

Guys let's remember that an office scent has to have a smaller sillage/projection as the important thing here is a balanced work/ office group of people, if we go around smelling like Antaeus (which i find too strong for that) for example, things might get uncomfortable for creating that ideal work environment.

Another vote for Gendarme and Le 3rd Homme (Caron). Caron Pour un Homme is another really good one. I heard (here on BN) that Steve Wynne wears Caron PuH exclusively. It's one of my very favorites so I can understand it. I work in a very conservative and stiff professional environment (public accounting) and I find Serge Lutens Vetiver Oriental to work very well. It's very clean and elegant and perfect for office wear (IMO). I'll also throw another vote behind Chanel Pour Monsieur (original - not concentree).
