Do any of you guys like licorice-based frags, or colognes containing licorice? Could you recommend any colognes that contain a good balance of licorice? I'm just curious to know how licorice smells in cologne. :-?

Yes. Try Lolita Lempicka au masculin, Kenzo Air, Serge Lutens Douce Amere, MAT Very Male. Lolita should be the easiest to find Sephora carries it.
Oriscent, AgarAura Pure Ouds, Creed, LIDGE, Patou Pour Homme, tons of niche and rare stuff for sale!

Anice by Etro, licorice pure by definition. To my girlfriend it smells nice, but I wouldn't let her buy it, I hate it because of the licorice flavored drinks that gave me alcohol poisoning on several occasions :-?

LOL ... might that anise liqour have been Sambvca??? I've had many similar "near death" experiences with that one. Shots of Silver Bullets ( 1/2 Sambvca, 1/2 Absolut 100 proof ) have almost had me meet my maker on more than one occasion. :

as mentioned before... It is "the" bottle you will find for Licorice. It dries down to a nice vanilla base. It is really quite amazing. I love this stuff...

L"Artisan Parfumeur is coming out with one next month. It's for men, and it's called Fou d'Absinthe.

There's also a unisex one made my Gobin Daudé called Biche dans l'Absinthe. I've never smelled it, but it got pretty bad reviews in the Directory. Here's the link:

Anise smells also similar so you'd also might want to try L'Instant. I enjoy Apparition Homme and Douce Amere. Apparition is a fresh aromatic, and Douce Amere is more gourmand, and L'Instant too.

Not sure about the pour homme version as I haven't tried it yet but I would recommend Kenzo L'Elephant. There is a wonderful long lasting liqorice accord which lingers and adds interest to this spicy gourmand (not foody) fruit and vanilla scent dominated scent.
    Favourite (Winter) Crazy Combos
