    Hi ,

Could anyone recomend a vanilla type frag for men ?

Bvlgari Black, V.I.P. Room Signaure, L'Artisan Dzing!, Etro Heliotrope are all very fine vanilla type frags. And why not try the rather new Gaultier*² from Jean-Paul Galutier if you haven't already...

Oh, and welcome on board of course!

You could try Javari by the Body Shop which is similar to Le Male but spicy & woodier.

Also Guerlain Heritage, Diesel Zero Plus Masculine, Obsession pour homme EDP.

    Welcome to Basenotes.
    Favourite (Winter) Crazy Combos

Tabu + Orange Blossom * Hermes Rouge + Bellodgia* Voleur du Roses+ Rose Ispahan * Rasa Extreme + Paris * Wood Coffee + Cafe Noir *

I think EdT is much more vanillic. EdP is very strong, powdery, even woody, when EdT smells like vanillaflowers dropped from heaven.

And then of course there is this scent called Pi.

My Vanilla two scents <a lot of my choices are merely seconding other peoples suggestions>

    1) Jaipur (formal distinguishedvanilla)
    2) Body Kouros (trashy, sporty vanilla)
    3) Burberry Brit (soft, powdery vanilla)
    4) Lolita Lempika (licorice, vanilla gourmand)
    5) pi by Givency ( strong vanilla, and very sweet night-time scent)
    5) Habit Rouge (lemony vanilla scent, IMO better suited for an older man)
    6) Bulgari Black (very versatile smokey vanilla, probably the best choice)
    7) Tel-Quel by Yves Rocher (hard to find, but a very coconut vanilla sweetness)
    8) Opium for Men (spicy, mysterious and quite strong vanilla scent for night time use)

Anyway, I am a University student, and my ratings don't involve any "Niche" frags..no Creeds or Artisans no Bonds or Monsieur Je Coute Beaucoups!.. or what have you.. hope it helps anyways.

of these choices, I would reccomend the Brit, the Body Kouros or the Bulgari Black.. as they don't stray too far from le Male, but are different enough to make impact.

Everyone took all of my suggestions except for Animale Animale. I also want to second Lolita Lempicka, Boss Bottled(#6), body Kouros, Pi, John Varvatos. I love then all.

    Third Man by Caron
Rochas Man, if you want a strong lavender top.
If you want vanilla galore, try one of the
    Comptoir Sud Pacifique vanilla fragrances,
    such as Vanilla Abricot.

I like 3) Burberry Brit & 5) pi by Givency , but 4) Lolita Lempika is just too much.

What is "too much?" I know many don't like it, but LL is wonderful to me. I am wearing it right now and reveling in the deep, rich overload. Perhaps not for everyday, but for today- Perfect!

    Have a great day,

    G

To me real vanilla (and not generally sweet vanillic) scents are:
    • Chanel Egoiste
    • YSL Opium PH (even more the edp version)
    • L'Artisan Vanilia
