    I suggest:

John Jarvatos... Leathery and vanillay after a while
Lolita Lempicka... black liquorish and vanilla
Boss bottled.... Very oriental and sweet but I'm not sure if it has vanilla. It sure fits into the category though.
Animale Animale.... I think it smells like it after the drydown. There might not be a note for it but I think it is there somehwere....

Yep just checked and Animale Animale has vanilla and Sandlewood as basenotes. There is chocolate in there as well. I really like this one and would classify it as a masculine/vanilla scent.

Laguna Homme. Cedar, sandalwood, vanilla, tonka bean...

There are no masculine vanilla frags IMO and I searched and searched. *The closest one is LA's Vanilia.
Another one is CSP Matin Calin: *"Rich, warm and delicious. The creamy, buttery note of milk and the sweetness of sugar candy and vanilla pod. Innocence and comfort." *Sandalwood is the base...smells just like Cream Brule(sp?) with the burnt top coating...interesting to say the least...masculine...up to you.

    DON'T GIVE UP!!!
    I like Le Boise....dry woody/vanillic/wine aroma ..... VERY GOOD.
I wish it were stronger but it is a darn good scent.

A quick search in the directory with "vanilla" and "tobacco" yields Aramis Havana, Balenciaga Cristobal and L'Uomo Trussardi.

Hi the one I love is Rochas Man, beautifully balenced, long lasting and is everything you asked for. My second choice is Lacoste Style in Play in red package. Lastly Hertitage Guerlain. Good Luck with these.

I will give you a different kind of recommendation: Bel Ami.

It is VERY masculine. Smoked woods, oily leathers and da daa: Vanilla. It has vanilla note, most definetely. So why not give a chance for the beautiful friend..?

    I second Heritage.

Dzing! doesn't have tobacco, but it has a nice woody accord as well as leather to go along with the vanilla.

Vanilla, but masculine? Sounds like you're describing Rochas Lui! 8-)

Good recs so far, and i'll throw in my favorite...

Lalique PH (the lion) -Semi-sweet vanilla and aromatic woods. Incredible!

Caron's Third Man (Le 3e Homme de Caron)
is a masculine vanilla-based frag. Very fine.
No tobacco, though, as far as I can tell.

I'm quite surprised that nobody named Egoiste, with its vanillic, yet woody masculine aura.
Also Bel Ami is a winner

i have always found that laguna for women it's very masculine (more so on the drydown and that has vanilla there) even if there are flowers and fresh accords on top...the scent tends to change a lot...and there must be others in the male world but they all seem a bit more femenine...strange isn't it?
Agree with Obsession night for men, heritage and lolita lempicka for men...

    Shiseido Basala!
Although I don't smell any leather (claimed to be there), I definitely smell the combination of vanilla, tobacco, and sandalwood in the smokey base. It's a delicious, pipe tobacco smell. Very masculine.

I'm not expert when it comes to vanilla frags, but Caron's Pour un Homme is fine and wearable vanilla.

If you can find it, Patou Prive PH is very nice.

I'm seconding Zino Davidoff. *I'm suprised it took so long to pop up on this list! *Very masculine to me, rich and heady -- with lots of creamy vanilla in the base. *
    Mmmmmmmmmmm!!!

Another vote for Guerlain Heritage. I generally don't go for vanilla fragrances, but Heritage is one that I actually like.

Just because it happened to you doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

I'd second 3rd Man by Caron (it is sweeeet though!)
if not, play it a bit more safe with Heritage (though there is NO oak that I can smell in that most masculine formula - and there is a bracing pepper and patchouli accord that is very distinguished)
    ...
Finally, I'm tempted though to tell you:
try Habit Rouge - nothing has more vanilla in a man's fragrance, and it dries down to a potent woodiness embedded in a floral and leather embrace...
these are all very individual scents though
each much more than the sum of its constituents...

I would highly recommend Molinard´s Vaniteck, a true masculine vanilla fragrance with wonderful woody basenotes!
    Try it!!

I would also go with Rochas Lui. A unique, stand-out frag. And easier to wear than I first tought.
