    Default Serge Lutens Chene *

I just got a decant of SL Chene from Karen(socalwoman) and I am again wowed by SL's creativity and originality. The Chene, which I like a lot, seems to remind me somewhat of Bond No. 9 New Haarlem on the drydown, although not as sweet. Does anyone who has tried them both see any similar notes?

Stu, I can see the similarities.

Not to get off the subject, but which do you like better: Chene or Cherugi?

I have a samp of New Haarlem, and while I can see what people like about it, it's too "too" for me..as in, too syrupy, too strong, too sweet.

Dave- I was just asking myself the same thing. That is a tough one. As much as I like Chergui, Chene has a more amazing evolution and is a bit spicier. A real pleasant surprise indeed!
