Default Joop! Homme & Original Santal Creed

Having never sampled OS Creed, I noticed that it contains almost identical notes as Joop! Homme - sandlewood, cinnamon, vanilla, tonka beans, orange (blossom in JH, tree absolute in OS). I was wondering if those who have sampled both can tell me if OS is in the same ballpark as JH.
"I exist for myself, and for those to whom my unquenchable thirst for freedom gives everything, but also for everyone, since insofar as I am able to love - I love everyone. Of noble hearts, I am the noblest - and the most generous of those that yearn to give love in return. - I am a human being, I love death and I love life."

OS does resemble JOOP a bit...not as strong though.
    I like both.

I agree. I tested them side by side and they're much alike. Original Santal is not as strong as Joop though, and a lot better.I didn't get the Allure Homme comparisons some made. Original Santal is in the same category as Joop Homme or Cristobal pour Homme.
I wonder why they called it Santal though, there isn't a bit of Santal to detect in it.

    Similar indeed.
    Especially on the drydown.
However the Creed is much more wearable & less cloying. Stellar longevity on par with BdP as an extra bonus.

Yeah! The new naming policy of Creed is truly puzzling.

    First Original Vetiver; Original?!? Vetiver?!

The first Creed Vetiver was launched 56 years earlier, it's also not very original in an other sense of the word; as we all know, it's very similar to Mugler Cologne.

Also, I have to admit I can't detect any Vetiver in it. Honestly, how did they come up with that name?
