Default Eau de Campagne by Sisley

Since it is not discussed here very often I ask: How do you like it?

If it lasted long enough to allow a comment on it I would have something to say about it!!!

I love this grassy herbal scent. Wonderfully green and always reminds me of the scent of a field freshly mown. I find lasting power to be moderate, but the scent always leaves a light green aroma on my skin. Overpriced, but pretty incomparable for overall effect.

I always use the Phytogel (shower gel) and really love it.

At half its price I would love to use a lot of Eau de Campagne in the summer. The best grass smell passing by in the wind. But Marlen mentions the green aroma on the skin. A trace is there for a while, yes, but too little to really satisfy, just enough to tease me.

Good stuff, but you must like Galbanum.
A light lemon compliments an extremely natural greenhouse smell (mainly geranium and tomato leaves).
Smells natural and authentic no matter how much you apply.

It's what Mugler and Lacoste Essential couldn't ever be on their best day.

wow! Sounds my cup of tea, although I don't know what Galbanum smells like, i like all things as natural as possible, Would you say it's a unique smelling scent? one that hasn'y yet had many imitations in its genre?

A very refreshing grassy scent. Vibrant and classy.

I forgot to mention I am getting sick of GIT type fresh green, I hope this one is really what it claims to be, grass and just freshly cut grass, no synthetics

I didn't find any syntetics in it. Rather unique, very green, at the beginning most prominent tomato leaf, which later would give way to much smooter notes.

I agree, it would be interesting if it lasted longer than 59 minutes.

In my case, I tend to perceive it as too "grassy". So there are actually a few notes about it which I don't like.

I can't improve on Dullah's excellent description, it is exactly like that for me. Galbanum is a dark-green sort of scent, dusky and powerful. I love it as a note in scents. It is not a coniferous green, more on the vegetal-herbal side.
PS -- and I love Eau de Campagne. Superb summer scent, or when you want to capture the memory of summer. Now THAT is what all those CB I Hate Perfumes should be like!!

I find it lasts relatively well on my skin...but I don't find it natural smelling at all. It does have the obvious green elements that would be perceived as natural, but there's a heavy, soapy musk in there that I both love & hate. Comforting, yet dated somehow.

Either way, it's one of the very few bottles that I actually finished...and the shower gel (although ridiculously priced) is also fab. I think I scored a giftset with the cologne & shower gel after father's day 1/2 off.

This has a bright green opening & sexy smooth drydown (is it iris?) I really like this one on my husband. I think if you are worried that it doesn't last, it is just very subtle. These days, that's a good thing. It bears no resemblance to the floral-green violet GIT. That one is too, OTT for me. Sisley really does smell like grasses & greenery. And , yes, $50 is a steal!

I really like it a lot - it's very unique (tomato leaves). $50 is an excellent price, but I would not recommend a blind buy - it's not for everyone.

I pick up the musk note also, which I find slightly off-putting. Not because I don't care for musk (I do), but rather because I think it seems incongruous with such a strikingly green opening. That said, I still think it's a great summer fragrance and have considered buying it from time to time, but it's a bit pricey for what it is IMO.

I do also, which is why I cannot wear this scent.

I just find the musk very dated smelling (Galaxolide?) If someone likes "nostalgic" scents, I guess it'd be perfect.

Thanks all for input! At least now I know it's definietly a green, non-GIT type of scent. I am not too worries about longevity since it's a summer scent. But I've been told they have reformulated EdC due to EU regulations and shit, and the newer version is noticeably synthetic, albeit still smells grassy.

Yeah, I find the drydown to be a bit of a deal breaker. It's not necessarily the longevity that bothers me - it's one of those scents you can almost forgive for being short-lived.

I love it. It doesn't last on my skin, but it lasts very well if I spray it on my hair.
