Default Chanel Egoiste and Boucheron Jaipur

Am I crazy or are these two incredibly similar? Sure, they are both Oriental scents, but to my entirely untrained nose, they have so many things in common - especially the base notes and longevity.

Can some of you with experienced noses set me straight on this one.

They are totally differend to me. Jaipur is more vanilla sweet to me.Can't wear the edp version of it. Way too sticky on me. Egoiste is has more
rose notes and I always smell some cinnamon in in. I like them both, but I prefer Egoiste.

I find them totally different, too, and eric is right, I think-- it's primarily the vanilla that causes the difference. *Yes, more of the cinnamon in Egoiste and I also get a little boozy note in it. *

Both are spicy--I think Egoiste is more dramatic while Jaipur aims at smoothness. *

I do see some similarities with Egoiste and Opium.

Neither do I find these two frags similar. Actually, they are completely different.

    Simply put,

    Jaipur: Floral(EdT), vanillic, powdery.

    Egoiste: Herbaceus, woody(sandal), vanillic, leathery.

Boy, kidding? Perhaps longevity, nothing more similarity. Jaipur is better imho, but i prefer EdT, EdP can be too powerful.

They are both waaaaay tooooo sweeeet IMO!

I bought Egoiste myself, but I'm really afraid to actually wear it. Jaipur I like testing from time to time.
