    Default A good pine scent?

    Hello,
I am looking for a good pine smelling cologne. I have tried a few:
Pino Silvestre(too strong) Polo(pretty good) Green Jeans(going to try again)
and some others that had real weak/almost non-existant notes. The
real expensive/hard to obtain ones are low on my list. I have heard
Aqua Brava, Aqua di Selva(spelling?) Green Water are a few that
are listed as piney. Basenotes of mostly pine with wood or citrus
lower notes mixed would be great. I hope this is'nt too hard.
Finding this style has been hard for me. I have many fragrances
in other catagories I just love.
    Thanks

I would suggest The Art of Shaving Sandalwood. You'll be surprised with that "piney" accord... despite of its name.

Pierre Cardin Men's Musk Cologne might be in the ballpark.

    Pino Silvestri ;D
The only one I know of is Pomegranate Anise by Fresh Index. *That stuff smells just like a pine orevergreen tree after about 5 minutes. *The pomegranate is nice but goes away too quick or else I would get it. *I'm not much for tree/wood scents though so that's the only one I know. *I know it is not listed in the notes but I still have a sample and it is a tree in a 1ml vial, at least to me anyways.

Sample Essencia de Zegna as well. I only wear that stuff during Christmas as it smells like christmas trees to me.

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Winter Delice. Not just pines but moist, lovely pines. It`s such a beautiful scent. Not easiest one to get, unfortunetly.

I like Green Jeans by Gianni Versace but if you want to try it again you better hurry as it has been discontinued.

Another vote for Winter Delice. This is marketed to women but is essentially a mens scent. A very strong and lovely pine scent.....pure pine i might add.

L'eau d'Issey...not exactly pine but it's definitely green with bitter citrus notes tempered by woods and spices.

Agua Brava is good value - it's a very commonly worn cologne in Spain.
If you're prepared to travel upmarket, I strongly suggest you try Loewe Esencia.

I can't believe no one's mentioned Hermes "Rocabar"--it's the most piney frag I've ever smelled, by far.....

I think Blenheim Bouquet[ch12288][ch65288]Penhaligon’[ch65363][ch65289] has a very noble and masculine pine note in it.

Bowling Green has a nice pine in the mid notes

Mazzolari Mazzolari is the best pine scent IMO.

Acqua di Selva is a soapy-piney scent, but not a lot of duration.

Bowling Green is a citric-pine frag, one of my fiancee's favorite frags - she loves to wear it, even though it is hardly feminine. It reminds me of Christmas.
In rotation: Greenbriar (new), Silver Mountain Water, Dunhill for Men (1934), Acqua di Parma Colonia, Habit Rouge EDC, Ho Hang, B*Men, Agua Brava

Very noble indeed & so is Town & Country by Crown Perfumery. I think these 2 are the very best.

Creed Epicea is a very nice pine scent, but a bit pricey. Azzaro Visit is an outstanding frag and long lasting. As much as I like them both, I have been amused to find that I get the most comments on Acqua di Selva which I bought on a lark. I guess it reminds women of their fathers.

I was going to make this recommendation, too! An initial blast of citrus (lemon) is followed by a burst of pines. I also like Rocabar very much, but it is cedar and juniper as opposed to pine. I have Acqua di Selva and like it a lot and would second its recommendation. Essenza di Zegna is again more spicy cedar to my nose than pine.

This is your answer. Perfect. I concur on both points.
Especially on the Esencia, which I'm wearing as I type this!

Blenheim Bouquet is the piniest scent I know of - too piny if anything - my ladyfriend dislikes it intensely.
The pine in Green Jeans is more toned down and blends in well with the citrus.
I can't smell any pine in Aqua de Selva which is otherwise a pretty good, but short lasting scent on me.

Why does no one mention Bois du Portugal as pine-y? Am i the only one who notices its extremely heavy pine notes?
